Chad Fordâs latest Big Board for NBA draft

The top 10 in ESPN expert Chad Fordâs latest Big Board for NBA draft prospects didnât change when released Tuesday.

Outside of that, the biggest shift locally came with total exclusion of the University of Kentuckyâs Harrison twins. Both were listed as top 30 NBA prospects over the summer but have since slipped completely off the board.

Ford, who still had Andrew Harrison listed on his Big Board 6.0, left him off the new 7.0. He has said repeatedly the Harrisons should return to UK for their sophomore seasons, and that opinion is growing more common as Andrew and Aaron Harrison, freshman guards from Richmond, Texas, settle into the Southeastern Conference grind.

A report from Jan. 30, citing an anonymous source, said UK coach John Calipari has been telling NBA personnel the Harrisons wonât enter this yearâs draft. In the same story, The Sporting Newsâ Sean Deveney wrote that âthe Harrisons should not be counted out of the â14 draft just yet. They still are giving strong consideration to entering the draft in June, and while Calipari has influence, the family will make the decision.â

Andrew averages 10.7 points per game and is often seen as the better NBA prospect, even though brother Aaron scores 14 points per game, third on the team.

Fordâs projections list the top 30 prospects, plus five players on the fringe. The Harrison twins have also been left off DraftExpress.comâs mock selections, which project all 60 picks.

ESPNâs Ford lists UK freshmen Julius Randle fifth and James Young 14th. Sophomore Willie Cauley-Stein is 19th.

Not surprised by this.

However, I do think Cauley-Stein could benefit from another year.

IMO WCS will enter the draft this coming spring. I made the statement way before the season that Johnson would be starting by this time and I was right. With Towns coming in next season and the possible signing of a another Center there will not be many minutes left to go around next season. Personally I hope this is WCS last season at UK! I have never cared for his style of play, his game is loaded with flaws on each end of court. IMO he is by far the worst center to start in the coach Cal era! Cal's system is at its best when he has a center that can step out and make a 12 to 15 footer every now and again to keep the D honest, WCS can't make a 2 footer unless he dunks it. I really like Johnson's game he is not as good of a athlete as WCS but has way more desire, heart and skill! In 4 years I can see Johnson as a starter in the NBA but WCS will not be more than a defensive role player unless he is drafted by a Team like Houston with a coach like Kevin McHale that can coach big men!

I believe Young has the most NBA upside of the bunch. Randle at 5 is about right I understand he's a monster of a man but that doesn't translate to being a valuable NBA player. As for the twins I think they both have upside to becoming good pro's but they could benefit with another year at the college level.

As for non-UK players this draft is loaded from top to bottom. Whoever meets in the finals and has those lower end first round picks can still find guys to come in and produce for their teams.

I think Parker will be the first pick regardless of who has it.

Wiggins is a tad overrated to me and I've said that since his Hunt Prep days. I'm sure he will contribute at the next level but he isn't in Parker's league.

I agree that he will go into the draft, I was simply stating that he could use another year of college. Also, IMO he is rated too high.

If the Harrison's do not go into the NBA Draft, then both will feel they were FAILURES! They came to UK to be 1 & Down, regardless of how they played! They are GONE!!!

I seldom agree with you but this time you are probably right. I think Archie Goodwin was drafted in the first round last season because he was such a great athlete. I don't think the twins are as good of athletes as Goodwin so I don't think they will be 1st round draft picks.

I agree with you WCS could use 2 more years of college. His biggest weakness is playing VS guys who are as strong or stronger than him. It's a shame that today's coaches are so weak at teaching good post moves. WCS should have been working on a Skyhook since HS.

If either Andrew or Aaron leave they will not be 1st round picks, as of today. However, let us not forget that Teague had a monster NCAA Tournament and snuck into being a 1st round pick. One or both could do the same.

I hope they both do! I would love to see them get hot and start playing really well and make a deep run in March!
