If You Were A Coach . . .

offense- I would run a i-formation or a wishbone..............................
defense- I would run a 52 with a monster............................

My offense would be Shotgun, and defense 4-3

Whatever my players can run...I would like an I-formation, and a 4-3...

As a def. end (which is what i played) it looks like a dream kill shot every play, but as soon as the ball is snapped, a guard pulls just about every play, the quarterback is a lead blocker (thats why most qb's ina sidesaddle are nothing more than blocking backs), and then you face THE lead blocker. Throwing the ball is unheard of basically. I talked to one of their players after Coach Hall left Neon and he told me they had three passing plays in the entire playbook. To sit here and explain how it runs, i couldnt tell you, but it was fun to watch in the stands and a nightmare to play against. Half the time, the qb didnt even take the snap.
Coach Hall won a state Championship with elkhorn city with that formation in 1963. Thats the last playoff win by a pike county team not named Pikeville or Belfry.

D would be a 3 5 3. O would be power I. and playing back a couple of yards more.Gives your backs a chance to explode with more speed, Or make the decision to scramble on a broken play.
