Some of your facts are debatable, but that didn't have anything to do with the game. It reminded me of the Olympic Hockey teams Miracle on Ice. It was the biggest upset in 20 years. A storybook ending for Collins, but Lord help the other teams in 4A next year. Games like that one is great for high school football.

Collins hit you like you haven't been hit all year. (butt kicked)
Very close game and one that will go down in history....Collins made the last play that counted....
Elder hit much harder!

Again, you're yet to tell me how a 3 point loss is "getting your butt kicked." If you want to see a team that hits, watch Cincinnati Elder or any of the real teams from that area. Highlands still nearly pulled out a win against Elder despite being underdogs. Cov Cath, John Hardin, and Warren Central hit just as hard if not harder than Collins.

If Collins is not in the same class as Highlands as some of the Blueturds have indicated, then Highlands must have had some character issues this year as they allowed such a less than equal team beat them.

Enjoy it while it lasts my friend. Not my definitions of outplayed or butt kicked. Made bigger play in the last key situation. Did Highlands not make plays in key situations? How do you know that was hardest THEY had been hit unless you were playing. Agree with your last statement.

It is obvious you are taking great pleasure in the Highlands lose; as is understandable if you are not a Birds fan. But you are making yourself look really stupid in a lot of your posts with ignorant remarks. I have mostly seen HHS fans state that Collins won and deserved it and discuss why or what they think HHS could or should have done to have won the game. Everything that needed to happen for Collins to pull the upset happened: Highlands did not play their best, two huge fumbles by Highlands, some big penalties by Highlands,Collins made minimal mistakes/penaties, good field position for Collins, Players off the bench for Collins stepped up and made plays when asked to, and good coached game by Collins staff and not the best coached game by HHS staff.

Not many have said that. What has been said is these teams were pretty even all things considered and on that day, Collins was the victor. Neither team was 'outplayed' or got there 'butt kicked' period. Hopefully they can each get there next year and settle the rubber match on the field.

Yes you are right it was a 3 point game but you guys are the one who talked smack from the begging that it would be a running clock. Seems to me that was a 39 point swing in collins favor. That is a fact!!!!

Still enjoy driving down Discovery Blvd to Collins, Class 4A State Champs!!!

And again, just because one loses a game does not mean that they're not the better team of the two. Collins played the best game they could, Highlands did not and it cost them. Are you a Collins fan? If your school wants to do something really impressive, try winning six titles in a row. I doubt Collins even makes it back to the finals next year.
I'm not a Collins fan. I just stated a fact

Yes, but the fact is they could not beat Highlands 99 times out of 100. If they play again in 2014, and I sure hope they make it through the west, Highlands will prove this was a major, major fluke.

Oh yeah, forgot to debate your point. Collins barely won this year against a superior Highlands team. Highlands reloads. If Collins is able to get through their side of the bracket in 2014, I say it will be another 47-0 like demolishing of Collins.

Highlands looses a great deal. Coach Turner will have to perform another miracle to replace all of the Senior linemen. He's done it before. Question is, can he do it again?
That right there is THE #1 question for HHS football in 2014.
#2 Question is the defense. Gave up a lot of points this year and lost several key seniors there as well.

Just can't let it go can you WideRight05! 2013 Class 4A Championship: Collins 37, Highlands 34. No matter what you say or how you try to rationalize it, that's the way it was and that's the way it will be FOREVER in the record books. I hope 2014 can bring you some relief and peace of mind, it must be awful to have that horrible reality burning in your soul. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, good luck to the Blue Birds in 2014.
COLLINS TITANS 2013 KY STATE CLASS 4A STATE CHAMPS!!!

Pookie Murphy RB, FS, Bushy Wells OLB, Nash OLB twins..Mike Nash knocked wood out of your number 45 Zach Harris, Devin Watkins C, Kyle Goss Line, Trey Axline Lne, Colton Alvey Line, Wyatt Williamson Line, Leland C. I heard some assistant college coaches want to be interviewed for Highlands job. Why not? They run a pro offense. Why not a college coach???

I think they need a fresh face in there. Change the thinking of kids going both ways. Same as when they brought Mueller in there.

Warren Central hits as hard as Collins? Didn't think there was ANY hitting going on when HHS played them.

For a supporter of a program that has won absolutely nothing in football, you sure have a lot to say about other teams. The game was over a long time ago and Highlands got no shirts this year unlike Simon Kenton that got one for getting knocked out of the playoffs in round 3. Just the difference in the programs my friend. There is always next year to look for that first ever state title.

Welcome to BGR. Nice place to share opinions. You sound like another alum a little salty after the drefeat from Collins. Nothing to be ashamed of, Collins proved all season to be a top notch 4A squad. Bash SK all you want, there gonna keep working to get better every year. 3 feeder teams compared to 0 20 years ago. I'm happy going forward. Oh yeah, congrats Collins on your first State Title!

Not salty at all. Just sick of listening to fans of a school that has won absolutely nothing in football blow their horns. Hopefully you got one of those 10-0 shirts and wear it proudly. Not ashamed of anything either. Pretty sad when you have to get joy out of another teams loss, especially when you have defeated them 1 time ever and refuse to play them or CovCath because that would be 2 L's on the schedule. Don't talk the talk until you can walk the walk. Oh yeah, congrats to Louisville Butler on ending your dream season in round 3.

I think one or two HHS fans said running clock on here. After a close game with Lex Cath and Collins blowing out Owensboro... I was thinking it would be a good game and stated so on this blog. And I love how everyone is saying Highlands got their butts kicked, wasn't it like an instant classic last second deal? People hate long time winners so hard.

Maybe some Collins players could show you the state trophy and rings....... better get a good look or take a picture. SK will never win one....they just don't have it to even get close. every 10 years or so they get a group of guys that start 4 years in a row and old independence gets excited when they are seniors.... then they barely taste the playoffs..... classic pioneers. Maybe in 2024!
