The 8th grader hit the game winner?

Well it looks like Corbin is not as down as everyone thought.

Yeah he had a couple key free throws down the stretch and 15 or 16 points I can't remeber exactly.

Great way to start your high school career.

It was a good ballgame to watch. Corbin outplayed Jackson Co in the first half and Jackson Co outplayed Corbin the second half. Fox is a heck of a player for Jackson Co. He was the only real playmaker Jackson Co had tonight. Both teams lack size inside, other than the big 8th grader off the bench for Corbin. Officiating seemed pretty good with the exception of two very questionable foul calls on Fox in the last two minutes. I was very impressed with Fox. He is a good shooter from the perimeter and penetrates to the rim well. Corbin plays a lot of kids. I was surprised to see Corbin come out in a zone to start the season.

Taylor had the last 6 points for Corbin and finished with 15, but his savvy, unselfishness and ballhandling skills are what really impressed me. I'm sure that he will have some ups and downs this year, but he is the real deal. Goins had a big scoring night with 28, Browning gave Corbin a huge lift by scoring 13 first half points and Taylor Waddle added 10. A total team effort from the Hounds, especially defensively and on the boards. Fox had 31 for Jackson Co, while Colyer and Hammonds each had 12.

This is why I always say dont count Corbin out.
When you got the best coach in the region, this type of stuff happens.

I still think corbin has a lot of growing to do, but Im standing by my pick that there the favorite in the 50th, and before the year is over, it could be them way out front.

With the exception of Fox, JC really stunk it up tonight. Collier was a non-factor inside in a game that he should have dominated. Credit must go to Corbin though. They were more aggressive and made big plays when they had to be made. I dont know if they'll continue to shoot the ball as well as they did tonight but if they do, everybody is in trouble! On another matter though, to think that 13th region officials can call the hand checking rule is laughable. Highly trained, seasoned professionals are having a terrible time with it in college and we're expecting the poorest officials in the state to do it?

I actually thought the officials called a pretty good game until the last 90 seconds of the game.

I think that Corbin may play a lot of zone this year, one reason being a lack of size and the other being because of the way fouls are going to be called.

I thought that Jackson Co. settled for way too many jump shots, probably would have won if they had taken it inside earlier in the game and more often overall.

Other than Fox, Jackson County did not show a lot of movement on offense. I thought #12 would try to post up a little more.

He should have posted up more, but all of the Jackson Co. players seem to like the 3 point shot.

I'm not sure that Baxter transferring to Jackson Co.(rumored) would help them much. He likes the ball in his hands and he is not what I would call a distributor of the ball, which seems to be what the Generals may really need.
