Bigger don't always mean better.
Comparing scores that early in the season and thinking Belfry resembles anything similar to that team is dangerous. Wayne County took 3 Quarters to put away that same Southwestern team as well but that didn't stop the Cards from crushing Corbin in the playoffs.
For that matter:
Oct. 25th Belfry 56 Pike Central 34
Nov. 22 Belfry 43 Pike Central 6
Oct. 4th Wayne 35 Corbin 28
Nov. 15th Wayne 36 Corbin 0
These are the differences between a mid-season matchup and playoff matchup... reading into either teams' results back when we wore short sleeves will get you nowhere. Neither team is remotely the same team they were in October..let alone September

Wayne blow belfry up!!!!! Yeah right!!!! That's a good one!!!! I really don't think either team will blow out the other. A bunch of comedians in the world out of a job and your trying to be one. Lol

I'm just happy that Wayne's players and coaches aren't approaching this game like some posts on here. It's been very business like around Wayne's campus....as it should be.
That said...it's an odd thing for the Cards to have basketball games going on and the football field full of players practicing. I could get used to that.

I want to publicly thank the 4 Belfry fans who PM'd me and showed that Belfry does in fact have lots of class. Thank you.
Leonidas? Not so much.

I feel like Belfry's style of play and their physicality will be the difference in this game. I like the Pirates 28-20.

 I seen in earlier threads where you did indeed take up for Coach Haywood. I have read this thread and honestly have not seen many if any at all picks from Belfry fans saying that Belfry would blow out Wayne. Belfry fans do indeed take alot of flack on this site. I feel because there are so many of us. Sure it gets heated at times and we, myself included, make snide remarks. But usually it is backlash to another post. I honestly hate that you or anyone else would "dislike" Belfry because of fan remarks on a message board. Shoot, Wideright has cut on Belfry for as long as I can remember. And really don't know why. Belfry has been blessed the last few years with talent and a stable coaching enviroment and it has finally started to pay off. With even State runner up trophies, that in its own right is something to be proud of and maybe we do get overzealous at times. But most of it is in fun and should not be taken so seriously on these boards. Most of the Belfry fans I have seen at games and in stands are very respectable and win and lose with class.

This game could be the difference in who wins the Pick'Em contest by the way...especially with it being worth 3 points.
I picked against Belfry last week... can't do the same in the Finals. Good luck to you and I'll tip my hat if you win.

Hey I tip my hat to you man. I take the contest with a grain of salt its fun, but it does earn some of the guys at the top a nod that they know what they're talking about. You happen to be my pick for most unbiased poster on the whole site.

Keep messing around and I'll screenshot the entire conversation and post it on here.
I don't send PMs to anyone, but if you send one to me insuating that I'm ignorant or try to degrade me in any manner you'll find out whats on my mind.
If that isn't good enough for you, then tell me where to look for you in Bowling Green and we can talk about it like men.

Afraid not skully03, but I will still be pulling for the Pirates. I'm really sick, and don't think I will brave that weather.
Besides, if I get down there with Leonidas, we're liable to fight somebody!!!!

Interesting note that doesn't amount to a hill of beans really, but some fun trivia.
Since the 2007 realignment only 10 times has a teams gone undefeated. Wayne Co will be playing to join this pretty illustrious list. Also playing for an undefeated season this year will be Bowling Green, Pulaski County and Scott County. With the 5A game being a battle of undefeated teams.
2008 Bell County 4A
2010 Mayfield 1A
2007 Highlands 5A
2009 Highlands 5A
2011 Highlands 4A
2009 Boyle County 4A
2010 Boyle County 4A
2011 Trinity 6A
2011 Bowling Green 5A
2012 Bowling Green 5A
I would consider these teams to be dynasties can Wayne, Pulaski or Scott join their ranks.
Interestingly neither Mayfields 2010 season or Bell's 2008 are in the KHSAA records

2009 Fort Campbell also belongs on the above list. Also not listed on the KHSAA records.

I believe Belfry is pretty much injury free, they lost X Willis for the season very early this year so his absence has been pretty much a non factor.

Also Belfry @ Southwestern is well regarded as possibly our worst defensive outing of the year (minus Johnson Central). Belfry came off a huge win over Somerset and (at the time) very hyped win over Harlan Co. They overlooked Southwestern who took advantage of the young defense and nearly let it slip away. The offense however was very good in that game going for over 300 on the ground and 70 in the air. This is not the same Belfry defense from week 3 of the season
If the Belfry teams shows up Friday that played Southwestern you will get blown out. And that's not up for discussion.

It would be nice to have X back on both sides of the ball. The kid was a game changer and was just starting to realize it!

Same can be said for the Wayne County team who played Southwestern and that's not up for discussion either
Luckily for both teams that game is a distant memory and both squads look completely different now

Unless something pops up this week Belfry should enter as close to 100% as they can get. Sani took a couple nice hits that had him limping in the 2nd Half,, but nothing to worry about there.
After battling injuries and a stretch where Belfry was the most banged up I can recall (CAK game where literally Belfry was missing basically their entire defense) it has been nice to see the Pirates playing relatively injury free ball since Week 2 of the playoffs.

Looks like Belfry will be the home team and wear red and will be on the sideline opposite the press box side.
