Things that make the Cards go Hmm.
#1
I know I have already touched on this one a little bit before this year. But, I want our Mayfield Cardinal bunch to be a little bit cautious about this year and not get ahead of themselves. We seem to be playing good football this year and have exceeding most expectations. I too felt like we should have taken another 2-3 losses this year coming through murderers row, when I first looked at the schedule this year. We only took 1, wow, who would have thought. Here is the thing though, we have been here before and it didn't end so well. So, this is some things to think about.

First is the fact that for the last 5 years the 1a champion has been the team listed as home at BG. This year that will be the east team. Second, we were expecting big things in 2009 and looked to be on a roll when we went into that game, and we got crushed. We came into that one at 13-1, which is what our record will be this year if we get there. Third, is that when we lost in 2009, PT and Somerset were there as well. Those 2 are still alive and have a shot of being there this year.

In 2009 and 2012, the team that lost the end of the year meeting between Mayfield and Caldwell, has gone on to lose at BG. In 2009 and 2011 we had a key player or several, injured just before going to BG.

So, my point is, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I think we may need to be praying real well and putting a little extra in the collection cup for the next few weeks.

With all that said, I still like my Cards chances of getting number 10 this year.

:dudecomeon: You should be doing this anyway for the majority of the year. I think your Cardinals are going to be fine. Good to see you being more mindful of the current and potential future success.

I have been around baseball all my life. I still wear my lucky tee to each game. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
