Malik Hines (Cordia) ruled ineligible
#31
He will get eligible, the KHSAA has no authority, they might as well grant the appeal, or a judge will do it for them.

This was not referring to Hines but the other player. It has been rumored, and it may not be true, that a school employee had to vacate a residence so that a basketball family could move in. I don't believe I stated anything about employment or bonafide change of residence. You making a statement about HCTCS just makes it sound more suspicious.

When is academics of any importance.
#34
Academics is not of importance in the 14th region. Making money is. Paying 10 grand for a player and making 3 grand a game is the difference.
#35
Shoot the coaches in the 14th may make more than that really.
#36
If you think for one second that these recruits, not only cordias.. But the jaysean Paige's.... The Johnson's... The justices, and more did not get some incentive then obviously you are high on something.

Elaborate? Sounds like first hand knowledge of something.

Never said they didn't.

If he was ineligible in Mississippi than there is no way he can get eligible here by khsaa rules. And I don't know about whole families living in school owned houses but I do know than most of cordials transfers do. And just because you have a legal address change that shouldn't make you automatically eligible, there is ten things that could make you ineligible.

Why couldnt he be eligible in Kentucky? Kentucky ranks about 49th or 50th in education dont they? Im sure Mississippi has stricter guidelines.

Yeah, but Cordia is in the Knott County school system with big brother Knott County looming over their shoulder.

This won't be as simple as putting them in credit recovery.

Cordia isn't able to move up the end of the semester like Perry was either lol

I doubt it.
If Kentucky is 49th, Mississippi is 50th.

Lol, you don't even have an avatar.

HDE is right.
Miss is the worst in just about every category.

Cunningham's Mother is employed at HCTS not Hines.

No she's not and neither is rhodes!!!:biglmao:

Hitter is correct, if a player is ineligible in one state then he/she is also ineligible in Ky.

Bylaw 6 Section 4d) A student is ineligible for athletics in this state if he or she transfers from another state if the student was or would have
become ineligible in the state from which he or she transfers.

Jaysean Paige was never ineligible due to academics!!! Jaysean was eligible to play in New York when he left there. Rules are much diff there. Trust me on this one. They actually wanted him to fail because he was so young he could have gotten a 5th year of eligibility in New York. Hines WILL NOT be eligible due to academics from what im told. He was ineligible in Mississippi and he will be ineligible in KY. He can go to Prepschool but I do know some of those rules have changed as well.
#49
I was told it had nothing to do with academics. He was here all summer doing credit recovery. I was told it was all about the address.
#50
Too bad. He should have enrolled at one of the KHSAA's preferred schools.
#51
Nobody still taking that bet????? Radio silence haaaaa.

Obviously they want Hines to fail, for obvious reasons. The region is scared. They should be.

No disrespect but not sure anyone is scared. Hines is a nice player BUT he still aint eligible. To this day Cordia hasn't beaten anyone they should be happy about. I want him to get eligible because I hate to see a kid have to sit but it is what it is. Until Rod shows his ELIGIBLE players they are at best 3/4 in this region.
#54
Seriously, when will Cordia's team be at full strength? This is getting old, endless speculation on a team that's going to end up with 8 players getting ruled ineligible (exaggerated guess before anyone asks). KHSAA is a joke in the eyes of many already, they may as well rule these kids eligible, it'll make for good basketball this season.
#55
When I look at Cordia's roster on KHSAA, they have mostly guards listed. The Keita kid is the only main contributor with any height. I don't see how this team is going to match up with Knott, Perry, and Hazard on the post. Keita may eventually dominate, but not now. He is not physically strong enough. Cordia can't match up well with other teams using players that don't exist (Hines, Chapman, Ortiz)....

Everyone on Cordias team is eligible besides Hines Chapman and Ortiz. The only one to be ruled on thus far is Hines. Keita and Lucien will be the only height until the other are cleared. But just with these two and the addition of Cunningham and ketchins they are bigger team then last year
#57
What do you mean the only one to be ruled is HINES? If Chapman, Ortiz and HINES if they have been ruled ineligible?

So what is the timetable on Ortiz and Chapman???
#59
Was told that both Chapman and Ortiz should be eligible before the first game. And was told that Hines looks to be eligible after the first three games of the season. So about mid December for Malik and the beginning of December for Rich and Josh.

 Hopefully, your source(s) are correct.... If not, could be a long season.
