:eyeroll: It wasn't a Belfry fan who put Belfry into the thread. Maybe you should read better.

:Sad04::Sad04: Read post #4..if that helps you. Your name shows no affiliation on my screen either. If you are a whiner then well, you are a whiner. No classless post at all from a Belfry fan until you started mouthing off. Just saying.

Congrats to Bourbon County.

Congrats to Mason on a great season. This game could have been more interesting if Mason was able to get touchdowns instead of field goals in the first half, the score could have easily been 27-21 with mason getting the ball.

:eyeroll: If a fan from another team brings up BC in that thread then there will be post about BC in it. But I doubt you would have any Belfry fans say they where classless..only you have said that. It was not a Belfry fan that brought Belfry into this thread and then you turn around and call somebody " classless Belfry fans " and you don't even know if that poster has any affiliation with Belfry, but still say we are classless. HMMM..just saying..again.:lame:

I was just wanting to ask if anyone knows if
Mason County had any TD's at all called back for
penalties ?

They did from a holding penalty, and I think it was in the 4th quarter.

OK thank you, I was just wondering.
Also was there something about a fair catch
being called by BC on a kickoff that was ran
back for a TD, and if so do you know about
that play. I know the game is over and settled but
was just wanting some clarification from someone who
knew about it.

To be honest, I was posting to update the score when the crowd cheered and saw the Bourbon player running for the end zone. It was a big momentum swing and if a fair catch was called for then refs made a huge mistake. That took a lot out of Mason.

OK thanks, I just heard about this today
and was just wondering about it. :thanks:

Fair catch was called and the player that called it never touched the ball because another player from bourbon caught it and took it to the house. From what I understand there is no fair catch unless the player who calls for it catches it.

From what I understand the play is supposed to be blown dead the second the receiving team maintains possession.

Correct. If a fair catch is signaled, then the play is stopped at point of reception. No matter who catches it. When the kicking team sees a fair catch signal then they let up. If it was the case that someone else caught it, it still is to be blown dead at point of reception.

If for some reason the rule allows another player to return a kick when a fair catch is signaled then as a Coach I am telling my up man to signal a fair catch on the opposite side of he field the kick travels. Should be good for a TD any time I'd call it. HAHA

That is the point of the rule from my understanding. Every team in the state would be doing it.

That is my understanding also that if a player calls for a fair catch another player cannot catch the ball and advance it. The play should have been blown dead.

I stand corrected. The refs definitely missed one there then.

I have searched the internet and googled KHSAA rules and College/NFL rules on fair catch and I can't find anything that says another player on the receiving team cant catch the ball and return it, although I see your point.
