What grade is Pack in? I thought it was said on here that he is a sophomore. Isnt this a game for seniors? Did he reclassify and move up two years?

Tyler Pack is a Sophomore.
Who cares what grade somebody is in.... if there is going to be a "Best of the Bluegrass Roster" then all grades should be included.

How Ross Cox from Anderson County didn't make it as a WR is crazy!
11-21-2013, 07:55 AM
I think it's crazy how some schools have 4-5 kids on the team. You can't tell me the best player on some of these teams aren't better than the 4th or 5th best kid from BG or Scott Co.

This isnt the "Best of the Bluegrass" this is the best of Western Kentucky. I'm really at a loss for words. Almost no kids from Central or Eastern Kentucky and 5 from Bowling Green? Doesn't seem right.

4 players selected from "The Mountains" A.K.A., the WYMT viewing area.
WR: Cameron Cheuvront, Somerset
TE: Chris Hudson, Hazard
OL: Kegan Skidmore, Somerset

Guys I am from Eastern KY also, but I can see 4 or 5 from BG. They are one of the top teams not only in the state but country. BG would walk over any team in this area.

All star games like this are usually for seniors only, like Kentucky-Indiana in basketball.

Why not just let Bowling Green play the Allstar game them and send all the rest of them home? Look most of the recievers alone arent even the top 5 guys in the state. Yes I know some probably turned it down but i know for a fact that some werent even approached.

So the Barker kid from Conner (4 Star UK Commit) isn't one of the top 2 quarterbacks in the state? Also, hardly any love for the EKY kids, but what else is new.

Here is what Im talking about:
Nacarius Fant Bowling Green 11 68 1325 19 120 1.7
Jason Perkins Wayne County 12 48 1192 14 99 1.2
Austin Lov vorn Nelson County 12 57 1170 16 98 1.3
Peyton Case Betsy Layne 11 48 1012 13 92 1.2
Ben Jones Nelson County 12 85 1069 10 89 0.8
Nate McCoy Gallatin County 12 47 1062 13 89 1.1
Cam Cheuvront Somerset 11 56 967 12 88 1.1
Taborn Kissick Bath County 10 58 879 6 88 0.6
Blake Stephenson Bellevue 12 59 1038 10 87 0.8
Cody Estep Pikeville 12 39 1016 15 85 1.3
Jansen Riney Owensboro Catholic 12 77 987 9 82 0.8
Christopher Hudson Hazard 12 47 960 13 80 1.1

Andrew Way Conner 12 68 942 13 79 1.1
Corey Shelton Williamsburg 11 39 865 11 79 1.0
Now where are the guys that got selected on this list? This wouldnt be the only list that would be this way either. Its not the fact that it should be a numbers game but they WERE NEVER EVEN ASK that seems to not be right.

I was simply saying I didn't have a problem with 4-5 guys from BG being on this list. They are one of the top teams in the nation. I do agree with you that some who was deserving have been left off the list, but you will have that problem with any list made. That is a fact.

Here is a couple of thoughts for you.
1. A coach of a player has to be a member of the coaches association to nominate a player.
2. Then they have to nominate them.
3. Then the committee and coach John Pettet from Monroe co have to invite them.
4. Then they have to accept.
5. There is also the border bowl to consider later and a kid can only play in 1 all-star game so some have to choose.

also anyone wondering where guys like Damien Harris, Elijah Sindelar, or Tyler Pack are, the Best of the Bluegrass All-Star game is for seniors only. I don't think Kentucky has a football all-star game that allows underclassmen to play in it.
and for anyone wondering, the Best of the Bluegrass is Louisville Metro vs. the rest of the state. It's a pretty cool all-star game.

Players can play in Best of Bluegrass All Star Game and the Border Bowl. Somerset had 2 last season who played in both games, Tyson Williams and Kevin Slauter.

Ross did not exactly help himself in the award column with his antics cursing at other coaches, and handshake mouthing and flipping off folks all season.

Notice that the kid leading the state in passing is not on this list...senior Houston Hartz from Owensboro Catholic.

He definitely has a strong leg. Has he ever been to any kicking camps or combine type events? If so I would be curious if it was suggested to him that he work on getting to the ball quicker? I understand that not all blocked kicks are the result of the kicker but I saw a Greenup team that didnt' make the playoffs block 4 or 5 extra point attempts against JC. I suspect you will take offense to what I say based on your black and gold tinted glasses. However, I am not taking anything away from the player he has things that you cant teach but he isnt there yet. I would bet the Highlands kicker is sought after I think he is more ready for the next level than Pack is from what I have seen on film.
Besides the game you are asking about is for seniors and their exposure, Mr Pack will have the opportunity to be selected in a couple of years. That and the Border Bowl were both great experiences for my oldest son.
