Dixie Heights @ Simon Kenton 11/15 (6A Playoffs)
#1
#2 Dixie Heights (8-3) at #1 Simon Kenton (11-0)

These two teams met on October 18th with SK pulling out the win 19-14. Can the Pioneers beat the Colonels again?
#2
SK has Powell this time around SK should win by 20. Last time Dixie was riding on emotion.
#3
SK wins by similar score from last meeting.
#4
Dixie by a Td. Last game was Dixies. ST play cost them the game. Thats why SKs qb was at the Dixie Cooper game. He knows thats the.best D SK played all year.

To bad Dixie will have no answer in stopping Powell!

Dixies D is the best you played all year. Very physical. Powell will.not make you that much better. SK knows this Dixie team is very good!

I don't think Powell makes the difference. Although Moore is a good qb, I think Kuntz is the difference in this game. SK's record speaks for itself and although it takes 11 to win a game, Kuntz is the reason for SK's success this year.

Good to hear SK is back to their full team. It will make a potential Dixie "upset" that much more rewarding. Special teams will not be an issue for Dixie in the rematch and the Colonels will be that much more focused on Friday. Circumstances around the first game were very unique.

I hope the Pioneers are thinking they'll win by 20 Confusednicker:. Turnovers and offensive play calling will determine the outcome. I like that SK is taking risks and introducing a QB throwback into the mix. A razzle dazzle play may be pivotal, it also can produce a turnover.

I predict Kuntz will complete more passes and Moore will scramble for more yardage than in game 1. I'll be shocked if this games margin is more than 10. It will be another slobber knocker and if Dixie sticks to the run vs. pass 75/25% the Colonels advance and if that ratio goes to 80/20 I really like Dixies chances.

If they get out of sync and pass more than 25% the Pioneers will advance. I will be tailgating on Pioneer turf with SK friends pre-game and look forward to a great football game. Those in attendance are going to see many very good NKY athletes on both teams, and both sides of the los:Thumbs:.

Prayers for an injury free game. In the meantime, Go Camels, we all would like the region championship to be held in NKY.

Dixie better clean up their special teams play if they want to win this game. It killed them the last go around against SK and it hurt them in their game against Campbell County. I hope Dave has really focused on putting the best players possible on his special teams this week.

Nice way to sum it up Spirit. This game and the X vrs. Male game are fantastic 2nd round games in 6A. I think the key to the Dixie/SK game is simple, who wins the line of scrimmage. I think Dixie did the first game.

Dixie won the line of scrimmage?? How can that be? All of SK's lineman are
D1...

SK 35, Dixie 21

Hmmmm, interesting game here. Kuntz is clearly the best player on both teams. Dixie has the huge edge in running backs. SK has the edge in wr's. Both offensive lines are not as good as advertised, slight, and I mean slight edge to SK. Both are big, neither is very physical. Dixie gets the edge in defensive line. SK has the better linebackers. Both secondaries are suspect with SK having a slight edge. This is probably the best SK team they have ever had, if SK doesn't win, heads should roll in independence. SK wins in another close one, 28-21. Did I mention how good kuntz is?

SK rolls all the way to bowling green, to bad it ends in a blowout loss to male, trinity or Scott county.

If Dixie O line isn't Physical then all of NKY isn't physical. I cant speak for Highlands. Dixies Oline gave Cov Cath. all the could take. NKYfootballfan91 outside of Highlands who OLine is better than Dixies or Sks in NKY? Please tell.

Scott County? They gave up 20 to Seneca. Score was 20-28 at half. Dixie just blew away Seneca. 49-6 How did SC give up 20 to that team??

Dixie continues to impress. SK remains undefeated. Wish I could make this game. Should be some very good football. Either team could win from what I have heard.

Well, if SK plays only NKY teams then they will win a 6A state title. I said before, being big doesn't make you physical. Cov Caths online is better than both. Dixie lost to cov Cath btw. HHS of course is better. CCHS's oline is not better, but Schneider is better than any of SK's or Dixie's olineman. Richardson is probably SK's best, and he is a CCHS transfer..... Don't mistake moores ability to escape pressure with an oline giving a team fits. Kuntz makes SK's line look much better also.

While NKY has some pretty solid teams, the overall speed that SK and Dixie would see in a 6A title game will more than makeup for a mobile QB that looks fast in NKY.

Ummm.. Dixie doesnt pass the ball much. How does Moore make a line that runs power football look good?? Have you watched many Dixie games?? They run power football. Dixie runs 90% of the time. CCHS Oline was not any better than Dixie's. BTW in that Dixie Cov Cath game Dixie was way more phyicsal. Muti Cov Cath players hurt slow to get up.

Don't forget Manual and Trinity! Jason Frakes of the Courier-Journal suggested a Male vs. St. X/Trinity vs. Manual double header held at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium. That would probably be very hard to work out but I would love to be able to watch both games.

Really just about every matchup this week in 6A have to potential to be really good games.

How many times have you seen SK play this year?

UK1fan Wrote:SK has Powell this time around SK should win by 20. Last time Dixie was riding on emotion.

Disagree, the opposite is true. Dixie will be more focused and less distracted. You make it sound like SKs RB in game 1 is a real slouch Confusednicker:.

Care to place an avatar bet on the game. If SK wins I'll display an SK avatar for 2 weeks. If Dixie Heights wins you display a Dixie avatar for 2 weeks.

Also in the losers address or sig we must say the winner rules 6A football in NKY for 2 weeks.

What do you think? Put that confidence of yours in Pioneer football to work. I support my Colonels and think they can pull the "upset." Again all the pressure is on SK. Could you handle honoring Dixie on BGR for two weeks? I can if SK wins. Another thing we must be required to do is at least post once a day somewhere on the site to promote our "loss."

If your game, let me know and we'll make plans through an objective 3rd party like Gut or Dusty. They love avatar bets.

The offer is on the table...

Reminds me of Ryle in 2010 Ryle was 1 in districts and SK was 2..
The first game was close and the second in the playoffs was easily handled by Ryle.

I think SK will repeat that and should win by 14.

Sorry Dixie fans but you have a lot to look forward to next year and should easily grab the district title.

^ Confusednicker:....this years Dixie team is not Ryle '10 and has yet to peak. They have continued to improve weekly and I'm pleased by how under estimated they are at this time. I think you are out of touch on this comment TNT and we'll agree to disagree.

This Dixie team lives for the now, wonder how and why that concept rings true? If SK thought Dixie brought the house in game 1. It's not too difficult to understand how they will improve on that in game 2. Load the box and try to stop the run!

Going to be a great battle...

I'm glad they do live for this season. However, neither SK or Dixie will win state this season.
