Being able to kick the ball in to the end zone is a big weapon. It will create some short field opportunities for JC. The pound and ground is very dangerous if the possession begins inside the 50. The ability to score when you cross midfield is also a huge advantage. JC kicker is in range at almost midfield.

I hope you aren't talking about JC playing "Dueling Banjo's" this week just like the last couple of times they have played NKY schools. The last thing we need to do is provide the guys from up north more entertainment on here and "open up" incest jokes, deliverance talk and other little things for them to tee off on all week long. This past week was the first game I made it to since Harlan Co. and for the love of God who is the guy that plays Weird Al Yankovic, Halloween or WWE music to get players and fans fired up? How old is he, 12? This is football, not some stinking Cake Walk at an elementary school carnival.

For the game I look for JC to come out ready to go and I also expect CCH to bring back a boat load of talent that they have been missing for the entire year. The team that limits mistakes wins this game. If CCH brings back Wags this week at QB I am curious how it could hurt their timing on many of their passing plays. I understand he played last week and was 4/4, so apparently not too much. Bir is a stud, killed JC last year and with him back it could definitely open up the JC defense. Bir doesn't have Baker speed but he is a hard runner and a player that will be difficult to tackle in the open field by a single defender. The Eagles should get a huge push up front for their backs by the oline and if Gound is able to read the D then offense should produce the yards. That helps JC in two ways, A) keeps CCH off the field and B) runs the clock. Last year JC was drilled by CCH at home and I hope the players remember vividly how that butt kicking felt. If not and they are caught looking ahead, which is crazy because this is a solid team coming to Paintsville, the outcome will be very similar.

Mr. Lynch47,
My name is Alex Green. Myself and another person are responsible for every song and clip that get played during JC football games. Most of the time, the other person does the in-game music and I am on the chain crew. I do, however, make 99% of the clips used.
I've been on the chain crew for about 8 years now. And I can tell you, the players from the other team respond to the music/clips played. The other teams fans love the music as well, I can hear them behind me either laugh or say something slick when a clip is played.

I've had people I work with and I've had people stop me in town and tell me how much they enjoy the football games because of the music/clips played. I take pride in creating a clip and the fans/players respond to it. If a JC coach or player wants something played or something not to be played, we have always been in compliance with their request.

We've never played anything disrespectful to the other teams/fans/coaches/players/schools. JC's Principal Mr. Crum and AD Mr. McKenzie know what we are gonna play before the games. I know this to be true because I have told them both on every home game this year what new music we have for the upcoming game.

I'm sorry you have no sense of humor. We try to make the JC football games as entertaining as possible. We take pride in using different songs and clips.... People that know I do the music send me PM's on here, text, call, send me FaceBook messages on clip ideas.

I played a song a few weeks by Chris Stapleton (JC Grad and former football player) "What Are You Listing To" The crowd loved it. The PA announcer even said during the song "this song is by former JC player #33 Chris Stapleton" How many other schools can say that around this area?

Kudos to you for being so involved with the program. Well done.

That having been said, I feel the same way about pre-game and in game music that I do about student cheering sections and PAs: who cares. I'm there to watch the game on the field. Nothing more; nothing less. If that's not entertainment enough for me, I shouldn't have gone to a high school football game.

While I'm an "old school" old man that could give a hoot less about side shows like music, organized student cheering sections or whether there even is a PA, I'm fine with the concept of "to each, their own". If the fans and players at JC are into the music, that's cool with me. And they obviously are, so a tip of the hat to you.

And to the topic of this thread: I haven't seen JC play this year, but if they are close to being as good as advertised on this site, I expect them to win easily; by 14 or more. No disrespect meant towards CovCath, but they are no where near as good this year as they were last year. Perhaps if everyone was healthy, they may have been close to being as good, but they aren't from what I hear.

Good luck to both teams and hopefully all the kids come out of the game healthy.

I am not sure who you are talking to, but the fans from the NKY teams (HHS,CCH,Harrison)have made it very clear they do not like it. Too loud, too much, do not like that it is played during visiting team on offense, Can just be obnoxious! I like music, and like it during the games, but JC goes a little overboard. And I can tell you Highlands players are not listening to or concerned about what music you are playing and the other teams players you mentioned shouldn't be either. It is great that you give your time for the school/team, I just think it is a little over the top.

Well I loved it! I thought it showed a lot of effort and time in support of Johnson Central's team. I could've done without the exploitation of "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" played at the end of the game, but I would've done it had I been a JC fan!!

It wasn't too loud. I was told before the game that JC speakers are purposely placed to be extra loud and turned toward the visiting stands. Both are false.

I think it's great Alex, that you guys go to all that time and trouble to support your football team!!! Even if one song DID rub the wrong way!!

I agree with the Ambassador of Harlan County Football. Far more people enjoy the music and atmosphere of football games at Johnson Central than don't, or changes would have been made.

Doesn't the Highlands kicker do the same? It looks like most kickoffs are touchbacks. It seems like there was a post in one of the game threads that the kicker made a 40+ yard field goal.

Cov Cath has had a good kicker in recent years, but I'm not sure about this year.

BTW, I read that Cov Cath's QB played Sat. (At least he was credited with stats.) That's something new for JC.

2 clips. 1 was of a military cadance used only once during warm-ups. The other was a clip Super Mario Bros. Both were played during pre-season contests, somebody didn't like'em so they were deleted.

But thank God, for 64 GB memory cards. Everything we've made is backed up.

I agree with you 100%. JC has the wheels, and great linemen on both sides of the ball I'm really proud of these boys. They have dominated teams that run70% thow 30%.The air raid may be a problem in points but offensivly they can rack up on the ground plenty themselves very fast. The thing I like about this team is your going to get hit and hit hard .These boys give it all they have every play and attack the ball like mad bees.

How about a team that throws 70-80% and runs 20-30%?
