Whoever said the kid at QB from Phelps, wasnt telling a lie. Very atheletic, but was absolutely all they had. He managed to break a long run on our 1st string after reversing the field and completed a log pass to set up their 2nd td against our JV squad. A shame he had nothing else around him. Very nice athelete.
Raceland was flat coming out. Terrible thrown ball by Elkins allowed them to make a good play. The next drive was when the QB had his run. After that it was lights out for Phelps against Raceland's starters. No 4 from phelps is a fighter and never quit though you could tell he was in quite a bt of pain in his back from a shot he took from Seth Holbrook.
Christian had a big game, Elkins had a few nice passes, one especially nice to Messer that redeemed the INT. Josh Young has a nice strike to Vance on the long side of the field. The Freshman RBs looked good. Beech ran particularly well, looked to be back to his old self for the most part. Nice cuts and keeping his legs moving on a few runs that they seemed to have him stopped 3 or 4 times and he kept popping back up. Next week is a rematch with Paintsville, this time at Ram Stadium. Anyone know if Daniels is back or not?

Just another example of why there shouldn't be 4 teams from each district in the playoffs.

Hat tip to the Hornets for another year without a home field and keeping the program alive! These kids have been dealt a tough hand and should be respected for their effort.

Rams came out a little sluggish but still took care of business with no problems. Not always easy to come out real fired up against a team you know you are 50 points better than on a cold night with a smaller crowd in the stands. Rams will be 100% focused for Paintsville and I look for them to take care of business in round 2. Win and advance, that's the name of the game this time of year. Bring on the Tigers.

Why do they not have a field? Are they building one?

Yes. New school, and new field being built.
