So happy for Ray!
I seem to remember nothing but negativity toward him, how he'd never exceed, criticizing his attitude, treating him like some foreigner that didn't deserve to even be in Eastern KY. How he was such a bad kid, ect ect ect. The hate thrown toward him made me sick, and a lot of others around the region. So many BS reasons why people hated on him, crybaby reasons... "he acts immature, acts like a kid, wah wah wah" all of that crap. Well, he IS and WAS an immature kid, just like myself at that age, ALL kids, your kids, and my kids will likely be. The disdain thrown at him was ridiculous, at a 16 yr old at ER, and then 17 yr old at Pikeville?! Just for making the best decision for himself to SUCCEED.
And succeed he has. Between UCONN and Oregon, he chose Oregon. Congratulations to him and I couldn't be more proud. He's grown into an exceptional young man after what he went through in Eastern KY, where our people are supposed to be the best. Sure didn't show it during those two years. Yes, he brought some of it on himself, but a very small amount. Not enough to be called the N-Word everywhere he went, especially when playing at ER after he transferred. Even adults, players dad's, tried to fight the kid in the middle of a practice. That's as low down dirty as is gets.
I'm not talking to the members who weren't complete immature bullies, but those who I AM talking to, know who they are and I can't wait until he's on primetime doing work against some of the best teams in the country just so he can rub it in the faces of those ADULTS who said what they said and did what they did to him.
So congratulations Ray, you've made it further than the UPike or Morehead State predictions some of these people put on you just because you weren't from around here or had bad games. Do it some more.
QUACK :hilarious:

Not nearly as many people have questioned his ability as much as his attitude and effort. He absolutely has lots of ability. You can portray him as a victim as much as you like, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...
Most posts that I recall said he can't cut it at a major D1 school, not because of ability, but because of his attitude and disrespect to authority. So when that holds true expect to see many posters come back with "I told you so" posts just like the one you just made...

Did he commit again? He committed to them a month ago, and then backed out 2 hours later.

I hope he takes advantage of this and works his butt off. In the classroom and on the court.
