Williamsburg vs North Laurel 8/31/13 @south laurel
64SUR Wrote:Confusedtrom:Confusedtrom:Confusedtrom:Confusedtrom:Confusedtrom:game cancel until sunday

Hey, no NFL this week and a holiday on Monday? Should have a big crowd. Did it get started and suspended or delayed from the start?
Started and was delayed with about 4:00 left in the 1st qtr. No score. I'm hearing that Williamsburg is wanting to play Sunday at 5:00 but North Laurel said no. Possibly playing week 4 as both teams are open that week.
Game will be played Monday 3pm @ South Laurel. South Laurel vs. Wayne 6pm.
Wow, just why did Wburg schedule this game with North if they knew they weren't a successful team. I hear a lot of Wburg fans downgrading them. Maybe they should have scheduled someone tougher yet again. What happens if they loose to this team that cant win? That wouldn't look good when 1a Russellville beat 3a top 10 Fort Campbell, Beechwood beat a bigger out of state team and Mayfield beat 6a McCracken. Could it be that this game will tell us that much about the jackets?
I hope they do get LOOSE for this game because playing stiff means they will probably LOSE. Weather delay was a joke last night. Keeping those kids out that long because they didn't want to have to refund ticket money.
Seems like the quality of post have gone down since last season. Too many sarcastic spiteful post by a couple of trolls. Lets not forget we are talking about young men and not a professional football team.

You have no idea what you are talking about. How about you worry about your team and leave ours alone. Both teams had to sit for about 5 hours last night waiting on a decision to be made about playing. Waiting that long is ridiculous. We are not afraid of playing them. If we win great if we lose then we learn from the game, make adjustments and get ready for the next game.
Williamsburg 34 North 21
talking about Transfers, The way we are playing, we will take those transfer on Colonels campus.
Williamsburg is legit.
MyIQis55 trolling again. Nice to see he can get enough oxygen in his brain to keep it functioning. But that shouldn't surprise me IQ55 being an oxygen thief.

I don't know whose fault last night was, but keeping us there 5 hours just so they didn't have to refund our ticket money was beyond ridiculous. I guess they just wanted more concession money. On a more serious note, please pray for one of our players little brother. Skylar Griffith's brother was hit in the head by a falling tree limb and had to be rushed to UK hospital last night.

So, myiq huh. Did E not just put down North for playing 1a schools and their lack of success in their district??? Then he wants to talk about how they might win. My point is, if they loose to a team that he says is inferior then how do they stack up against 1a teams that are doing well against good competition from bigger classes. If u wanna say that wasn't said, chk out page 4 of this thread.
I am very disapointed with the KHSAA rulling on the continuation of this game. Both of the teams had week 4 open, but North Laurel refused to play Williamsburg on week 4. Now, by KHSAA rule the kids must play two varsity games within a 5 day period. This seems stupid and unneccesary to me. The first job of the KHSAA should be to protect kids. Two varsity football games in a week simply put student athletes at risk.
Play fast, do you not remember when we were kids how we healed quickly. These kids will be fine. They may actually get pumped by this. Kids typically like playing more often. They may be better for it. Hopefully it will be a little cooler for them.

If that is the case, why does the KHSAA not let teams schedule two games per week normally. No, I disagree!!!! Two games per week is not ideal and introduces student athletes to undo risk. Especially with both teams having the same open week. I think the idea that just because they are young they will heal is a horrible idea. It takes a lot out of a kid to play a football game, and I think this increases the likely hood of a student athlete being injured. I think there was a simple solution to play week 4.

Hope North's insistence on playing Monday didn't have anything to do with finding out we would possibly be without our best player.
North wants us now so now is the time for them to get us... I just want the fans to know how we have been done through out this whole deal. First, we were supposed to be the visiting team guess what! The weather report got bad, as in heat, Jerry got a call Friday that we were not any longer the visiting team due to the extreme heat expected, we were now the HOME TEAM or the side of the stadium exposed to the sun, or the hot side of the field. They also informed us that we would be wearing orange jerseys instead of the white we had agreed on when we accepted the contract. North would now wear white other than the green they agreed to at first. I WONDER IF LARKEY KNOWS THE OFFICIALS for tomorrow?"
This seems like it was a bad situation, but why would North not want this game to be played week 4.
My prayers go out to the Griffith family, and may they find strength during trying times.

I hear the game may be play at north Confusednicker:
I lost my dq grill & chill ticket stub :insane:
64, whatever we r drinking over here must be some good stuff. It has led us to 56-4 over the last 4 years and another 2-0 so far this year. You want me to bottle some up and send it to you?
Home team is a better choice. Visitors get the small bleachers, no locker room, & a mile walk to concession stand. Why not be home team? North had a player injured. You can not play games based on who is injured or playing. The season goes on. North has changed the schedule 1-2 times already since it was released to accommodate other teams.
Its awesome to see the game is going to get played monday if that correct.
Awesome day and time with the holiday and all.

The bad part of success is it breeds fans like you who think you are entitled and have to put down any program you are afraid might knock you off your Perch. Us realistic fans know we aren't to the level of a Mayfield or Beechwood. Let us revel in our once I in a decade competitive class. Once our current sophomore class graduates we will go back to being an average team and leave you in peace.

It happens all the time.
Look at smaller school who have freshmen that play three times a week in frosh, jv, and varsity ball.
Its usually rare, but theres a lot of kids that do it.

Also, if you play at a school where coaches are rough like we played back in the day, you pick up a lot more injuries in practice than you do in a game.
