The 2003 NL team is the best they ever put on the field, with the 2004 a somewhat close second.
This team would be third IMO since 2000.
The 94 team would prolly be ahead of this year as well.
If the classes were the same then as they are now, that 2003 North team would have went a long way.

Given todays classes and districts, that 2003 and 2004 teams would have went further than this years team will.

Hey 64Sure I agree with you in saying this is the best team North has had. However, if you really think that Williamsburg is going to walk all over this team I have to ask you what you are moke:

North Laurel had a record of 8-2 Regular Season & District Champs in 1994. Got beat first round of playoffs by Lafayette. That was North Lauerls best team record wise.

Have a feeling North Laurel pulls something off this week with Williamsburgs injuries. BUT, this is one of the games that prepares them for the seemingly ever looming Hazard matchup in the playoffs. We will see how the Jackets respond to numbers. In most cases a descent 4 or 5a teams numbers will eventually overwhelm a below average 1a team. We shall see, but i am calling:
N. Laurel 36
Wbug. 28
N. Laurel 36

I saw Corbin beat North Laurel 63-7 in 2003, kind of doubt that was their best team ever.

I just don't see Williamsburg laying smack down on north at all. Yes Williamsburg is very good this year, but I don't think they are big enough up front to stop Blair and company. Not to sure if Williamsburgs o-line can give Sizemore enough time to pick them apart. Jags win by 14.

Let's just say if williamsburg o-line don't hold the big boys off.sizemore will have a 100yds rushing.game over williamsburg win.blair and nelson will be shaking there heads wondering where are these little fellas coming from.PANIC FEVER WILL SET IN. then north laurel will begin all of there trick plays an reverse going for it on 4th down.off side kicks an trying even to kick 50yd field goal and north laurel does have the best field goal kicker in eastern kentucky.PANIC FEVER will just last for 4qrt.win or lose we will use no excuses.best team will win :muscleman:muscleman:muscleman

Didnt South beat Corbin that year?
Well North beat South if im not mistaken.
If im not mistaken Nik Blair didnt play in that Corbin game, or was hurt or something.

Wburg O and D line is probably bigger that N Laurel. I think NL overall speed will be what gives Wburg problems.
I really think a low scoring game favores Wburg. A shootout will probably go NL way.

So am I reading Bronson's quote right that Williamsburg is a below average 1A team.
08-27-2013, 06:47 PM
This is going to be a good game to watch!! If Williamsburg gets behind they have the passing game to come back. If north gets behind its probably over. You give Williamsburg a 14 point lead and I don't know if anybody around here could come back. I am not even a Williamsburg fan but they have a chance to win a state tittle this year. It's been a looooooong time since you could say someone around here has had that chance. Good luck to both teams!!!

I'm glad NL has an outstanding team remember you can't win the big ones backing out. Williamsburg did loose a couple good boys but, we have a couple good boys that are good and are dying to get to show it. Will not slow us down. it is called prepairing yourself so when your called upon you know exactly what to do. The burg plays them all the time anyway.

Ill take the jackets in this one...But it will be close till the end! I think a late turn over or big defensive stop will give W'burg The edge! Big orange win by 3!

Everyone looks at how good the williamsburg offense is but rarely talks about the defense. The williamsburg defense is pretty dang solid. the front line averages 6'1 260 with helton being the biggest at 6'1 280 and runs a 4.8 forty all the bd's returned from last year including the top 2 tacklers on the team.

Not even close.
And besides, that was Norths only two wins against Whitley other than the 1994 season.

Don't know who will win but please learn to use capitals and not run on sentences, what is an off sides kick, go back to English Class

Gotta go with Coach Larkey and the Jags. Chris has done one heck of a job there. Good luck and stay injury free.
