Beat Down.
After T let us down, the public school was there to pick the state back up.

Highlands started off sluggish but picked up the pace in a big way. Highlands was a better conditioned team and you could tell. UC relied in their speed to win but that can only get you so far. The Bluebirds dominated with confidence, heart and pure fundamentals. Good win!

Highlands should of scheduled Booker T Washington out of Miami
If they wanted a worthy Florida opponent.

I know it was a wee bit warm yesterday, but I was surprised by the # of empty seats in the stands. Some may have felt their icing was going to melt nicker:
Once the Birds shored up the gaps in their O line in the last couple drives of the second quarter the rout was on. Houliston impressed in the pocket. The defense was en fuego in the second half.
? for Bird insiders, can he run if necessary? Always has been a Highlands QB strength. Congrats to the Birds on the win and representing KY well on a national stage.

Nice article featuring the Abner's and why the Birds make for great t.v. Like Dale said, you're either the hero or the goat on national t.v. and the Birds shined this time. Hope the kids stay healthy. It will be a fun year of watching them for a half every week.

Someone may want to educate the UCA fans in the comment section.
"It was a rough game, for sure, but to be fair to University Christian, it would have been an upset of David vs. Goliath proportions had they won. There is a big talent difference between a 2A school and a 5A school - and not just any 5A school, but tone with 6 consecutive state championships. I give them a lot of credit for going up there and taking them on, and I'm sure they will be a better team for the experience. I'd also like to see how they would stack up against the top-ranked 2A school from Kentucky. They'd probably beat them quite handily, just as Florida's top-ranked 5A team would probably have defeated Highlands, because we all know Florida football talent is superior to Kentucky football talent.
"
May break that guys' heart when he learns Highlands is not only not a 5A school..but is actually a smaller 3A school playing up in 4A
