I think you are right. Should be a Great High School Football Game. Look for a lot of Off. from both teams.:redboxer::redboxer::redboxer::redboxer: Last one who has Ball could Win!!!

I somewhat agree.. I think the score will be in twenties. There will big plays but I think this will be a defensive game.

Always a hard game to predict. Pulaski has a history of trying a ton of trick plays in this game, along with on-side kicks and fake punts.
I look for the score to be in the upper 20's or even 30's

Somerset 31 Pulaski 24
This on paper will be a great game. Pulaski has talent and Somerset has talent plus Senior leadership. My take is the difference will be a Senior dominated team playing at home. I wish both teams the best and pray that both teams come out healthy. Go Jumpers!!!

I don't like what I've heard from the Somerset scrimmage on Friday. Going on that, Lange being out and a gut feeling I'm going to take the Maroons 33-21.

Lange being out will hurt the Jumpers, however I think that people will see that Doan is more than capable of picking up most of the slack. I wouldn't take too much from the scrimmage. That being said I've read different reports on how it went. Read that they weren't very sharp to having 400 plus yards of offense in varsity play. At the end of the day I will still take the Jumpers.

The mistakes from the scrimmage are correctable, and for the most part were assignment blows. Montgomery would've only had one scoring drive where Somerset would've had several. They took every big play back to the 30 yd line and went 6 and 6 before going down and distance. I agree it looked ugly in person at times, but Somerset ende with 430 yds total offense on 48 plays (215 rushing, and 215 passing). Lange being out hurts, but the freshman rb Doan ran for 130 yds on 9 carries in the scrimmage... Jumpers will be fine, they are a very good football team, if they were perfect they wouldn't need scrimmages. This team has a lot of hype, and once the pieces are all healthy and the bus is rolling itl be hard to stop. They were without a starting o lineman in mcguffy and a defensive lineman in coomer last Friday, both will be back and that will help. Doan can handle the load at RB until langes return, and even then I think Lange helps more in the passing and return game, the Doan kid is special!

I'll say Somerset wins a thriller 31-29

They weren't very sharp, that's true, but as I've said the format really contribute to how that looked. And it is true they had 430 yds total offense and 9 plays of 20 yds plus... The blows are correctable, they'll be fine... U can't teach someone the type of explosive athleticism the jumpers have!

How many starters from last year does Pulaski return?

Pulaski County is 5A. Somerset is 2A.
35-14 Maroons

Watched the film, Doan is as advertised a stud, being really small helps when you're running behind a much bigger off. line. Hatcher was extremely elusive and looked as good as a scrambler as a sophomore QB could but threw a couple ill advised passes across the middle. Will improve with more experience. Linebacker group looked like it needed the most work surprisingly. They seemed like they were moving at a slower pace or something, not sure. Jones much better than the rest. If Pulaski can keep up with Somerset's speed its going to be a great game, but I am betting on them not.
Somerset- 34
Pulaski- 16

Take a look at this ball game (and Somersets record against larger classification in general) historically before you spew nonsense.

The difference in school size sure hasn't helped Pulaski over the course of the series. I think they've only beaten Somerset 6 times. The 5A vs 2A difference doesn't concern me. The performance of the defense and offensive line does. Is feel better about this game if it were in week 2 instead of week 0. That is why I'm picking the Maroons. If it were later in the year I'd go with the Jumpers.

This should definitely be a good game as both teams are very good but, Pulaski already looked like they were in mid season form in their scrimmage against Madison Central so I think the Maroons come away with the win in a close one at the Briar Patch.
Pulaski Co. - 28
Somerset - 21

Jumpers will correct the issues up front, they'll be fine. Plenty of talent on o and d lines respectively, just have some pass pro things to work on. Everything from the scrimmage is CORRECTABLE. Somerset is the better team here.

So Somerset gives up the second most points they've surrendered in three, now goin on four years to Pulaski? Not buying this one.

Most people think this will be a close game. I feel that way also. Somerset is a Briar Patch and has the most experienced Team. Give the edge to Somerset.

This will be one of the best games in the mountains. Somerset wins 21-14. Good Luck Briar Jumpers, and I hope this is the first step to a state championship.
