2013 Class 2A Football
#61
Careful boys, he isn't overstating anything. I think with comments like that, Killer may be the one posting the smiley face in Dec.
#62
Enjoy all, word is Belfry may me dropping a class next couple of years!

I'm not saying to send the trophy to Princeton just yet, but then again, gentlemen, I think we'll have more of a game on November 1, 2013, when Mayfield comes to Princeton could be the Kentucky Small School Championship this year. Should both teams be undefeated coming in, Tiger Stadium will be JUMING! I am so ready to see some football!

mysonis55 Wrote:Colt, let's do the math here. When the score clock said 0:00 on it and the horn sounded, did DeSales have fewer or more points than Caldwell???? Then you say you didn't loose much. Caldwell lost I think, 2 players. That is 1 lineman and 1 receiver. They have gained a speedster to replace the running back and I'm sure they had another lineman. That being said, 1 + 1 does equal 2. An almost complete team of Caldwell from last year vs an somewhat almost complete team of DeSales in a rematch at Caldwell equals a Tigers Win. DeSales may be good enough to make it to the final four but not to state, once again.

I gave you guys credit for the win. You beat us on that night. You have your team back, we have ours. Both teams need to take care of business, and do it again at semi-state.
#65
That's the thing colt, its not my team. I therefore can look at this objectively. I don't see any teams in 2a beating the Tigers esp at Princeton this year.

I am a Tigers fan and one thing you are missing, Coltsfan, is that we have added a faster RB, a bigger OLman, and 2 taller receivers, all with varsity experience. The Tigers just need to take care of business in the district, and all games in the playoffs go through Princeton until the State Championship. :Cheerlead

Bunnies will hop all over 2A.

Its not always what you have on paper though. High school football has more to do with momentum and chemistry than pure athletics IMO.

You can also have a key injury play an important factor once everyone gets to the playoffs. But this is the most talented Caldwell team I've seen, maybe the most talented Caldwell team ever.

Offensively they look like a college team. Caldwell's OLine totals 1,350 pounds (that's an average of 270 pounds per linemen).

I also think the team grew closer because of that 7-on-7 scuffle with Tilghman. The Tigers saw what looked like three guys attacking one of their own and they all came running. I don't condone fighting, but that incident may have actually helped Caldwell's team chemistry.

Don't know how the season will play out, just know I'm excited to get it going!

There is a little bit of luck and the circumstances have to be right too. The wrong injury at the right time could throw everything off just enough that Caldwell County might lose to the scared little Bunnies maybe 1 out of every 20 or so times. :biglmao:

Killer, I know you guys have a few state titles there in Caldwell, I just don't know how many. I think we got 9 here in Mayfield, plus another 9 runners up years. It's amazing to me how when we make any comments about the chances of a team making it to another one, we don't seem to know anything according to bunny fans. Its kinda funny that we don't know anything about what we are talking about. I guess we really should listen to the fans of a team that haven't gotten their first title. That is obviously why they have to put up clips of someone laughing to prove their point, seeing how they cant show us any titles to back there opinions.

Only mysonis55 knows football silly rabbit.

I like that post better there shambo.

I agree, 55. We have a pair of State Championship trophies, and we're making room for a couple more this year and next, but with the kids coming up and getting excited about football, we may be real relevent for the next decade or longer.

BTW, silly rabbits trophies come to the west part of the state!

Fortunately these matters are settled on the field, as I've said before I hope that Somerset is fortunate enough to play Caldwell co., as it will mean both have met lofty preseason expectation.

It's a long time until The 1st week-end in Dec. Santa will come early to a few lucky teams. Many Games to play and many practices to go through. Many teams will have to deal with kids getting hurt and ending their season. Just Football. Most teams in 2A if they get a key player hurt are out of the Hunt from that point on. Good Luck to all the Teams and may all stay healthy.

64, That was a great team in 98. Not so much since then.

I think and have said several times that Caldwell is the prohibitive favorite to win the state this year and some of my NCC friends agree.

Caldwell is the team to beat...they may go 15-0 and win it all...but they are not New England Patriots...in HS football anything can happen.

Somerset isn't even thinking about CC, all they are trying to do right now is beat Pulaski Co in a few weeks and be able to get out of NKY alive later on in the season...but there is a bunch of football between now and December.

I never thought I'd agree with you, but I do. Anything can happen and be a momentum swing during the season. I know I've disagreed with the Somerset faithful and some of my posts have been a little "in your face ", but we all want our teams to win. It's a shame Somerset and NCC are in the same region because I'm sure a championship game between these two would be spirited to say the least.

TL Dude. When is the team season preview for Caldwell in the times leader coming out? Told my sister to pick one up whenever it comes out.
#86
CC will quit after Mayfield hands them their head in a basket. That game will expose C .
#87
It didn't last year, even after mayfield did some damage to Caldwell. They went on a tear through the playoffs. I only see Caldwell getting better.

I like roshambo posts

I believe that the Mayfield @ Caldwell County game on the last Friday of the regular season will be a great way for BOTH teams to go into the playoffs. I have talked to some of the players that I see regularly, and even the most talented "stars" of the team are humble, and want this to be a special season as a TEAM. They understand that as individuals they are weak, but as a team, they are very strong. These young men are not overlooking ANYBODY. They are just looking at Butler County right now annd preparing for that scrimmage, then they will prepare for a strong Christian County team, that will come to Tiger Stadium and give them all they have. The games here in Princeton this year are Christian County, Ft. Campbell, Ballard Memorial, Murray, and Mayfield. The schedule helps the Tigers a lot. I look forward to the long trip up to Greenburg, October 4th, to face Green County, and the trip to the Druther's in Campbellsville before the game! I would love to see some of you guys from the east part of the state come to watch the game with me that night or any night the Tigers are playing! We may be rivals on the boards, but deep down, we are all football fans, and want what is best for the boys!
