Good sign for the East as all the talent appears to be in the West.

Somerset I think will win 2a with Middlesboro being my sleeper team. And Caldwell co. Out of the west playing somerset in the championship :Cheerlead:Cheerlead:Cheerlead 64sur

I kinda hope it is Caldwell County taking home the big trophy

Quite understandable, given who you root for. I think they have to be considered the favorite--but I'll be rooting for my Briar Jumpers.

I would love to see an OCath v Caldwell matchup in the regional finals. Big seasons by OCath have been derailed by Murray the last two years, but I think this is the year they get past that hurdle and lock horns with Caldwell. Hartz v. Sindlair could be a great show

I've only been able to watch a few of the practice sessions so far this year, but if Somerset stays healthy and plays to their potential... Who know how far this train can ride.

Don't forget the championship road goes through NKY. NCC might have lost some players, but they are going to reload and come after it, especially since everyone has written them off. The schedule that was put together this year is tough, starting with Ashland, then semi finalist Cooper, then three 6A teams before they get into district play, then finishing with Beechwood. There's not a tougher 2A non conference schedule to get them ready for the playoffs. So, I hope you overlook NCC this year because that might come back to haunt you this year.

Bunnies bring home the big trophy.

Bunnies may bring home a trophy but not the main one. The big one goes to Caldwell Co Tigers this year. They will have the best qb in the state this year and all the talent to surround him. Lets not forget they just about did it in 2012. They didn't loose much at all. Owensboro Cath certainly doesn't need to overlook Murray either. Murray has another good qb and talent.

:welcome: back mysonis55 I was just kidding about you moving up in class we need you back in 1a :biglmao: somerset coming to bowling green this year 2013 :theman:

I love the Jumpers but until we can crack that NKY nut, NCC has got to be the favorite on the eastern side of AA.

2A will be one of the more interesting classes this year.
I believe 1A, 4A, 5A, and 6A are pretty much decided, but 2A and 3A could be a number of teams instead of one or two like the other classes.

Bunnies, have a lot of hop, will not be surprised if they are last team standing. They will find out in a hurry. They open with Pulaski Co. (5A) then play Belfry (3A) so it want take long to find out.

I'll say it now, people will be very surprised at Somersets team speed. Everyone knows Lange and Chevy can roll but Hatcher has gained a step and freshman Jordan Doan will be an absolute stud for the Jumpers THIS season. Somerset can spread the field with 5 or 6 skill kids that all run 4.6 or better 40's with Lange, Chevy and Doan leading the fast break at 4.5, 4.4, and 4.5 respectively. The offensive and defensive lines look good and the line backing core, led by seniors gadberry, Griffith, and Jones will be a force... All this senior talent (coupled with the fact that they've started since they were sophomores and have won 34 ball games, 3 regional titles and 3 district titles in that time period) will make them a tough out if they can stay relatively healthy. Nothing is a foregone conclusion, but this team has more talent than the somerset team that went to state, albeit less depth. Shoul be a fun year in the east, let the cards fall where they may in bowling green but I'll say that the jumpers have a great chance to make an appearance on the first weekend in December.

I think Drew Barker is the best quarterback in the state--and it isn't close. He didn't get invited to the Nike Elite 11 Camp by accident...

I completely agree with you! I was going to say the same thing.
This is the year for Somerset to get over the hump and bring home a State Championship! They have one of the best coaching staffs in the state, studs at the skill positions, senior leadership, and a really good offensive and defensive line which is something most teams lack and it is anchored by arguably the best offensive lineman in the state in Kagen Skidmore!

I hope you guys are right about Somerset. I should be able to make the Pulaski Co. and Belfry games so I'm pretty excited to see how they will look this season.

I don't think that you can find a person that follows Somerset football that would ever over look NCC, been bitten too many times.

NCC gets mentioned at least 3-4 times a practice.

Hard to believe that Owen or Walton make it out of the east... Just don't see that happening.

You are totally right, why even play this year? Everyone should just go home and give Somerset the trophy.:blabbermo

What has happened to Danville? Is it the new coach, lack of returning talent, aren't they usually listed in the top ten of 2A?
Mot a fan, just curious.

nevermind. I just saw the Danville thread!!

Danville will be OK, new coach seems to be going about resurrecting them the right way. This may be a down year but you never know how a bunch of teen age boys will respond.

It would surprise me if there are 5 teams in 2A better then Newport Cent Cath.
