Can't really argue that EKU's top 4 are wrong, but my top 4 would be:

1. X
2. Highlands
3. BG
4. Trinity

While I know that great programs don't rebuild, rather they reload, it's very, very rare that a program can reload with equal talent to make up for the the loss of White, Hatcher, Wright, Quick, Dawkins, Bertram, etc. Those were exceptional athletes; exceptional even for Trinity. T without Quick and Dawkins in the Scott County playoff game gave an indication of what T probably will look like this year. And if Dawkins doesn't totally suck it up and play the 4th quarter while still very sick, T doesn't make it to the state game.

It's X this year with the exceptional skilled athletes. While I expect some early season "first year head coaching" problems for X, by the end of the season I expect it to be X that claims the 6A title. Gone is the one dimensional offense of X I'm told. Lots of excitement surrounding the new day at X.

T will still of course be very, very good and if both H and BG weren't expected to have exceptionally good (even by their standards) teams this year, T is 2. But both H and BG are returning a whole, whole lot this year. H may have their best team since the 09 team that finished 3rd in the country in the USA Today rankings. BG returns Fant and a whole lot of other talent. Really wish the KHSAA had continued to let H be in 5A. What a state championship game that would be.
