I counted 21 before dead period. Hopefully more will be there to participate after dead period but if those coming haven't been working out to get stronger we will have another tough year. It's hard to be competitive when there is not a process in place before you actually get started. Lets go Tigers!

Maybe going to a team camp will help. Is that still the plan?

I love the team camp idea. Where will the team be going?

I don't know. Just heard that was the plan. They haven't been in years, have they? As I remember, it helps create more team camaraderie plus it gives the coaches some uninterrupted time with the boys. No distractions. That has to be a positive.

Was Chirico at Pburg 2009-2010?

Yes.

Oh ok. I remember they poured it on a Morgan county team that had to start basically all freshmen that year. They are all seniors now.

^They didn't even play Morgan last season.....lol.

If you are attempting to imply that he "ran up the score" on an overmatched opponent, you should know that Chirico coaches defense.

I would hope that is not what he is implying. Prestonsburg was simply that much better than Morgan that year. We only had 9 pass attempts in that game. We had 19 rush attempts by 7 different backs for 171 yards and 3 td's. We also had a fumble recovery for a td in the 2010 game. Sometimes you don't intentionally run up the score. You are just that much better than your opposition.
You also mentioned the youth of Morgan Co that year. Prestonsburg only had 5 seniors in 2010 not counting 1 that didn't play and the other being the kicker.

I agree 100%. You can't be successful when 8 out of 11 starters are freshmen.

hope you guys have a good year

Why would I forget? I do understand it is hard for a young team to have success. What I don't understand is where you are going with all this. Maybe you could enlighten me.

^Pretty self explanatory. Morgan will put a thumping on the Tigers the second game of the season and Chirico will be on the receiving end this time. Not hard to figure out.

^I really don't think he was asking you Ike. Everyone likes to get on here and run their mouth and down certain people and/or teams. Give Paintsville some time...they'll be fine.

Just like another poster said Ike, Chirico coached defense, so yeah it was a little hard to figure out.

Agree. Give Chirico the time & support and the Tiger's will be just fine.

Not running my mouth or downing anyone. I think Chirico is the best hire in many years. I also think if given enough time he will turn this program around and compete like times of old. Lastly, in my opinion, Chirico is the best coach in the mountains with knowledge of the game and being able to communicate with kids and teach them the game of football.
Some people on this site takes comments / post way out of context and are always on the defensive. All I said was it was self explanatory which I stand by that statement. Not bashing, hating, downing, being unsupportive..... simmer little fella.

I'm going to take a guess that DNS means let the program die because with 20-22 players you can't compete. Hence we will see it in a couple weeks for our own eyes. Just a guess
07-16-2013, 04:10 PM
So how many do we have out total? Give Chirico a few years and you'll see consistantly 25-30+ kids every year. With some of the up and coming young talent the Tigers will compete again in the near future. I'm not predicting a state championship but they will be ready to play and fight to win each and every night.

^ WHY?????
For the ones who care and want to discuss the season, why would we want that?
Some of us do care and want to know how things are going.

Hows practice looking ?and how many kids are out? Is the miller kid playing qb and when do they scrimmage?
08-01-2013, 09:15 PM
From what I hear, practice is going good. Consistently about 23-25 kids out so that's good. Miller started practice this week, I believe, but Fannin is playing qb. Miller may see some snaps, but imo he will spend more time at safety. I haven't heard anything on scrimmages.
