^With me knowing the personal issue with the Williams brothers it makes me laugh to see you be so judgemental and saying kids are being pushed aside. And thank Big Al for Hudsons departure. Anyone with common sense and eyes should know that. I don't know why Nowell and Hill wouldn't be returning, but if it is I guarantee it was THEIR choice to leave.

And unlike you, not everyone is as "in the know" as you claim to be. We just see it from an outsider's point of view, which looks extremely poor. If it is such a great opportunity then why leave? Writing is on the wall in this case I do believe.

^You want to know ask them. Damn dude that's how i know half of what I do. I like to play pick up and just so happen to have access to the gym. I've not talked to Hill or Nowell and neither have you. Chill bro. No kid is getting mistreated thats the only thing that should matter. And if the opportunity wasn't worth while ask the others why their returning. Ill ask for you when i get the chance if you want.

OutsideLookingIn Wrote:The grapevine has it that Rhodes definately has a *****class of recruits coming in this fall. KCC and PCC maybe be playing for second. Could be 6'8, 6'9 and 7'0 across the frontline wow
How is this possible. I know schools get kids all the time, but, if the above information is true, how are these kids eligible. I know the KHSAA varies in their rulings, but there would have to be a red flag somewhere. For the record it doesn't matter to me if Cordia wins the 14th region, the state, and the ESPN National invitational or if they lose every game.
I am just wondering, if these players are coming to Cordia, where are they coming from? Do their parents come too?

I am hearing that Letcher may be receiving a top notch athlete next year from a neighboring school. If true, it will add tremendous value to all three major sports.

One of the Nowell brothers graduated. The younger one is playing AAUs somewhere else and will be back in the fall. The Hill kid needed to return to his mother because of a housing situation. If Chishom leaves it will be because he is being recruited by Hazard, just like Chris Hudson. Pretty open about it...just like Hudson. Nobody has been promised the moon and then kicked out. Cordia doesn't have school positions to offer parents like many schools have done. I'm sure their parents could tell you why they allowed their kid to come so far to school. Actually, you should be able to figure it out yourself.

Sure hope the Nowell kid returns because he is going to be a special player from what i hear, Cordia's version of Braxton

Williams was not happy with KCC last year in passing at the state tournament last spring.

Explain a little further. Did he even play in the state tournment?

All this talk is really quite humorous to me. 14th region basketball is, was, and will be irrelevant on the state scene.

Cordia folks aren't the ones on here complaining about recruiting. You take them, we'll find ones that are better!

Kinda sounds like you are...and that's the attitude I'm talking about. We'll find better ones. Ones...these "ones" are people, children, young adults. They aren't objects to be played with.
Hilarious.

You are wrong Stlcardsfan about my attitude and "ones" was merely a figure of speech. I'd bet my house and next year's salary that you would be hard press to get any athlete that came from elsewhere to Cordia to say anything bad about the way he was treated by the school or community. Like it or not, Cordia has always taken in "kids" that were rejected from other schools, treated them with respect and tried to arm them with skills that would prepare them for life after high school. Like all schools, Cordia has not succeeded with every student; no school can. But I can assure you that no student has been treated as an object to be played or trifled with. Kinda made me mad there feller.

KCC coaching staff was told this week of several kids not returning.Don't know the reasons and if true,it could hurt them in the future.Five to six kids, all freshmen stated they would not be coming out next year.Knott only goes 2 deep usually and this could have an impact or maybe not,we'll see.

Sir,
At no point have I stated Mr. Rhodes or anyone else has mistreated anyone, I am simply asking why are these athletes are leaving so consistently. Check my posts. Mistreated is a word, until this post, that I haven't used. It's surprising that I keep seeing a couple Cordia folks using this word in response to my questioning. Additionally, in reference to you being mad at me, I only quoted your exact words. Don't take it out on me.

All of the freshman are quitting, except one. Two are going to play tennis, Jaylyn is going to LCC, and not sure on the rest. Crying over PT. They were freshman behind a great starting class. What did they expect?

Unreasonable expectations and not willing to work on their game in the meantime.
05-26-2013, 08:07 AM
Figured as much.KCC is stacked with a special group of sophomores.Kids today want pt now and don't want to wait or be role players.Good opportunity wasted to learn under these sophomores.Losing Jailyn will hurt but he should do good wherever he goes. Are the other players going? What about the Shrum kid?
05-26-2013, 08:19 AM
Agree Mix1. Common thing anymore to quit and why cry over playing time?Justice and the other starters will be even tougher after playing summer ball.Got to work because those young men are working hard to be better.I think those kids set a good example of work ethic.

High school ball isn't like college or UK,, freshman don't come in and demand to start or get extended mins. Especially with the starters KCC has. You ride the pine, learn from the upperclassman, and as a soph on, you get more mins. Been this way since I played ball in the 80's,, and well before that. When you have a Camron Justice, an Evan Hall,, your not going to get a lot of PT behind them. But you gain much valuable experience. Your being groomed the whole time and come Jr year, you'll see mins. Plus numerous chances at playing in Rupp.
Evan Hall really helped himself playing AAU this summer. Was one of the top players that played. Anthony Wireman said he was the best big man that played from the entire state. Wasn't a rebound he didn't get nor never hardly missed from 10' in, was dunking on everyone and automatic on the 10'er.. Camron lead the Travelers with scoring in I know of 3/4 circuits they played in. Travelers beat a Texas team with UK targets and the top two big men in the nation, Alexander and Okifor. Cornet also helped himself playing AAU. Had a great game filling in for someone.
I'm not sure which freshman is staying, just got word all of them was quitting but one. I assume it's Shrum staying due to family tie's,, just a guess though. Knott will be ok unless they run into a pressing team. Then they might be in trouble. The transfer rumors of players coming in has died down. I've heard nothing in over a week. Maybe the reason the freshman are quitting is due to someone transferring in. In most cases I've seen, players will transfer out before "said" player(s) make it known they are coming. Maybe the case?
