Since 90% of what is on the site is rumors does that mean we need to post everything here ???

Have heard from 3 different people that the old coal company here in Estill (South East Coal) might be opening back up...2 of them came from 2 different parents to kids that go to school and play sports here and the other one came from someone who went and talked to Southeast Coal Company and applied for a job..If it does turn out to be true and opens up then that will open a lot of jobs and could possibly bring some talent in.
I'm actually glad Zaga made this thread. Looking forward to seeing what's going on in our region

We're all curious about what's going to happen. With the exception of the first couple of guys on this thread, I guess.

I'm checking on Goodin and guy from Madison Central now. All I got from a couple starters from Knott is maybe so far.. But word around school is Goodin and one of the big guys from Madison,, they didn't give name. But don't see Taylor leaving for his senior year,, was thinking underclassman maybe? Trying to get a for sure answer from players/coaches..

He is.. Someone above mentioned Taylor as the big man from Madison. I was just saying I don't think it's him because he will be a senior this year. I heard it was a white kid and If is maybe the Smith kid as he is a soph or jr this year.

Rumors are circulating about the recent construction work being done at the old Whitesburg High School. Rumor has it that they have become involved with a federal program that allows exchange students and students from troubled areas to attend school there and they will be allowed to provide them dorm-type rooms. It is rumored that they are taking applications from individuals to be dorm directors and they are sending them to training at Syracuse University as required by law. That there may be up to 100 students, both boys and girls, staying in the dorms and will include students who will be participating in all sports as well as the band. Rumors are that several top athletes, both boys and girls, are coming from the west coast, the greater Chicago area, and multiple countries. The old English building on the campus is rumored to being remodeled into a girls dormitory and the newer annex building is being remodeled into a boys dormitory. They will have a functioning cafeteria and a rec room on the first floor of the cafeteria building. The old gymnasium will also be used for recreational usage. The students will be attending Letcher County Central and will be provided three buses for their usage to get to school and for weekend recreational use. The remodeling is rumored to be funded by local businesses and that they are also getting federal funding as well as funding from other private foundations. It is rumored that something similar is being done at Jenkins as there has been rumors that they may be doing the same thing at the old Jenkins High School.

The grapevine has it that Rhodes definately has a *****class of recruits coming in this fall. KCC and PCC maybe be playing for second. Could be 6'8, 6'9 and 7'0 across the frontline wow

I said earlier that if all goes well Rhodes would have state championship height in his front court next year. Everything looks to be falling into place.

Noticed some Cordia players aren't coming back. How come no one stays for more than 1 year?

Tall lineup doesn't = state championship.. Madison Centrals tallest player last year was 6'3"... Shelby Valley was about the same with a couple guys around 6'4".. Just saying a tall team doesn't equal a trophy..

What free agents are currently available from places like New York and Canada.
I heard there were a few looking for a job.

I said state championship size. And all players that didn't graduate are returning. Hines and the 7 footer are the only ones i know of. But Frimpong and Fritz are basically new due to having to set out last year. Hines and other are already having paper work done so everything should run smoothly next season.

And on another note I heard through the grapevine that Goodin would be bringing his talents to the 14th, but would joining aau teammate Chris Hudson at Hazard.

If they do not return it would have to be a personal choice.

^So now you are saying this isn't true?

Just seems like they must be promised the world then thrown away when someone better is available to come in. Unfortunate for those traveling so far away for a chance and then feel like they need to go back home. If they were winning as an integral part of the team and had an outlook to contribute at some point you would think they would stick around. Williams brothers gone, Hudson gone, potentially Nowell and Hill (from what I have info on), why are there so many defections?
