Powell is probably not. They and Tellico Plains, TN were one year contracts due to Franklin County backing out of their contractual obligations, causing Belfry to play Harrison County twice and Pikeville had to go find two games and did so with TP and PC.

The Belfry vs. Somerset matchup should be one to watch. Hard nosed football!

If these matchups hold true, I really think the bowl takes a step forward this year. Yes Pike Central may be a little overmatched but hey thats how you get better. Also very intriguing matchup with Hazard and Pikeville. Somerset is a step up in competition for the Pirates but I still think Belfry will be too much for the Briar jumpers. Good to see Betsy Layne involved. Overall I really like it.

With all due respect to a PCC program that has improved leaps and bounds over the past couple of years, I watched a young man named Elijah Bell shred a defense (early in the year albeit, when Belfry is usually at their worst) in half. The same defense that held Louisville Central to their lowest scoring output of the season even less than St Xavier and Pleasure Ridge Park. That was a very good defense, even early in the year...

With that said, should that kid return to Henry Clay this year ... he will shit all over Pike Central. Now, for the record, he would do just the same to us.
