The perry county board never voted to not play. They even tried to get hazard to play last year on an open date but hazard didn't want to. So put blame where it needs to be.

No one is putting blame anywhere!!! All I stated was there had to be a vote and yes there was a vote from both boards... Last year Perry asked hazard to play but it was on Perry's terms and just bc they needed a game.. But it's over now THANK GOD!!!!

Correct... I do believe they did try to work something out for football but it was to late..
Its going to help the middle school programs more than anything.

^How would it help the middle schools? In basketball every elementary school in the county already has a team and have no shortage of games and in football, Perry has a full schedule every year without playing Hazard.I sure wish Hazard wouldn't have been scared to play football between 2009-2012.
Perry wins = wow that's expected
Hazard wins = lol Perry got beat by little ol' Hazard
No win situation for Perry. Sure will help Hazard with gate money though.

Perry hasn't allowed Hazard schools to play their grade schools in a long time.
The middle school basketball and soccer teams will benefit greatly from this.

Scared???? Before the "lockout" Hazard football beat Perry 4 times in a row!!!
Again, ppl that don't know much about it don't need to stop on the matter!!!
But it's all over now!

I know a lot more than you think about the matter, I know the history, i'm not the random troll spewing nonsense. Do not doubt me on that. I stated how I felt about the matter and it is simply that Perry has nothing to gain outside of a few extra soccer and basketball games, meh.

Hazard is a little bit better than Perry Central in Football I believe. Dont think Perry would of beaten Hazard the past 3 years. Cant really venture back much longer than that. Hazard beat Prestonsburg like a drum this year. State Champs last year in football and runner up the year before. I think Hazard could probably come close to winning Perry Centrals 5A district every year. Hazard would have trouble with Harlan County, but who dont? As far as the others, Hazard could probably beat them. But Perry is very capable of beating Hazard though.

Year in and year out Hazard and Perry Central have great talent... I'm just glad that all that talent gets to play each other again. In all sports!

Actually the reason that PCC haven't scheduled Buckhorn for the past few years is that Buckhorn refused to vote for seeding in the district. I believe there not playing Leslie for the same reason.
I don't blame them for not wanting to seed, but I believe that was the reason for PCC not placing them on the schedule.
Also I agree with Coach Hatcher not placing them on the schedule.....did Coach Spurlock place them on the schedule?

So Hazard wouldn't Perry in the past because they were "chicken" but Perry has "legitimate" reasons to not play Buckhorn. Sounds like hypocrisy running wild in Perry land.

Spurlock put Leslie County on the schedule last year if I remember right.
But yes, Hatcher said Buckhorn wouldn't get to play Perry unless they vote to seed. Which they will vote yes either this year or next year.

The vote to seed will never come from Buckhorn. The only way that happens is if the powers that be try to strong arm them and I can't see the current administration even having that as a priority.

Mark it down lol

Not disputing you. Just stating a simple fact. If a seed vote comes, it will be because the people in power(in typical perry co. fashion) will impose their will and take the vote away from the people who normally make that decision for Buckhorn

Zaga, you seem to have a good grasp on things involving PCC and I have heard from a few sources that some of the higher ups are looking to force a seeding vote from Buckhorn. Do you think it is really on the agenda for them with the new administration and all? I would think they would have much bigger fish to fry than seeding basketball district.

They probably had bigger fish to fry than getting the Hazard games back on the schedule, but they still did it.
Perry's administration has taken a step in the right direction for the good of ALL of the kids in the county, but the fact remains that there are several people there that still think about basketball from dawn til dusk.

Never mentioned Hazard OrangenowBlue...as everyone knows the reason Hazard and PCC have not played regular season games was because of Hazards' boards decision not to play PCC and then the follow up with Perrys' board not to play Hazard too.
Just for the record, Hazard and PCC have always wanted to seed and bring it up at every district meeting for a vote. The vote is always a tie 2-2. Since its a tie, the khsaa rules say you revert back to the prior seeding....which is the blind draw.
Will have to correct an earlier statement I made in that....Perry has not dropped Leslie from the schedule. Zaga fan was correct in that they have continued to have Leslie on the regular season schedule.
The reason behind originally replying was to explain why PCC and Buckhorn don't play in the regular season....kyfan35 post said that PCC was "scared to play them". I believe that both schools or any in the 54th district are not afraid to play one another. Any yes Buckhorn has had some big wins against PCC in the district tournament in years past and congratulate Buckhorn and Coach Noble for those wins. Have to admit, year in and year out he gets the most out of his team and always has them believing in themselves.....and they play extremely hard for him.
