Anti-Marijuana Republican Rep. Steve Katz Caught With Marijuana
#1
Quote:New York Assembly member Steve Katz ®, an ultra-conservative Republican and strident opponent of medical marijuana, was recently busted by a state trooper for possession of marijuana. Well, since Republicans are all about state’s rights, hypocrisy should also be on the state level.

According to reports, Katz was initially pulled over on the New York Thruway for speeding. The trooper who pulled him over apparently detected the aroma of marijuana and proceeded to ask Katz if he had any pot in the car. At which point, Katz said “yes” and then handed over a bag of the magic stuff that contained less than 25 grams. The trooper didn’t suspect that Katz was driving while impaired–an assessment that has become more common in the wake of states legalizing small amounts of marijuana–so he just issued him for unlawful possession of marijuana – a non-criminal violation – and speeding. Under New York state law, the private possession of up to 25 grams of marijuana is a non-criminal civil citation, punishable by a $100 fine. But if only there were a penalty for hypocrisy.

Dumb ass politicians do dumb ass things all the time(both parties). Why bother even posting crap like this. If you want to go there how about Obama's IRS chief not paying $30,000 in taxes? How about Charles Rangel, democrat congressman who help write tax law cheating on his taxes?

But to the subject of the story. MOST OF OUR DRUG LAWS ARE STUPID! After all if someone can grow it in their yard, how in the world can it be controlled?
Besides it always made me paranoid and hungry.

Because a few on here can't wait to post a zinger that a democrat does. I just thought it funny that he is a strong fighter of weed being legal, even for medical use, yet he smokes it. I'll give him credit, he wasn't high while driving.

All true. And yet, the article was a disgusting indictment on how liberals view republicans. The hate I sensed in the article was only eclipsed by the revoltingly graffic discourse of sexual misdeeds. The difference, beside the fact that this bozo (State Assembly Member Katz) doesn't as yet get to write federal law, is that republicans aren't leading the charge to legalize contraband drugs and their use. Neither are they pushing the rest of the liberal agenda such as homosexual rights, gun control and abortion rights.

No question, there is no defending Katz's actions. However, just pointing out there are some morons within the republican party as well as the democratic party, certainly won't justify the democratic platform and in my mind, doesn't give the dems a pass of their public espousal of depravity in so many forms.

I would like to see a new party formed that the country could really get behind. Not some independents leaning one way or another, just a good party that is conservtive and yet open to new ideas. The two party system has gone way to extreme to keep up with the times and it just further divides the country.

No need for another party, we need worthy candidates and informed voters.

“Relax, all right? Don’t try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they’re fascist. Throw some ground balls – it’s more democratic.”
