#1
Johnson central is going to rupp in back to back seaons for the first time in school history!
#2
A long season, with some unforeseen bumps in the road along the way, but it's going to end where we all hoped it would eventually.

Congrats to Coach McKenzie and the troops for dealing with the pressure of expectations and getting the job done!

Beat Ballard. Shock the world.

Hey, the baseball team did last year. Who'd a thunk that either.
#8
I don't think JC has a senior on their team.
#9
Condrads to JC! Good job!!
#10
How bout it. I knew they'd get hot now. Good luck against Ballard. Hate to say it, but I think they'll need it... but I do think they can win. It's March!

Who made the all tourney team?
#11
Congrats to the Eagles. Didn't always play like it but the most raw talent in the Region this year I think.
#12
sheldon clark got beat by the better team tonight, but i think parsley forced things to much tonight. the cards will be a tough team to beat for the next few years. congrads on a great season.
#13

have to disagree... parsley played a great game tonight and the entire tournament. look at the tournament stats.. MVP was a joke
#15
Cardinal fans should be very proud of their team. Loosing 2 of the top players in the region and doing what they have done this year. I mean johnson went with spurlock hoping to get in rupp but did not work out for him but I do think Coach Smith is twice the coach spurlock was and this year proved it. Congrats to JC and good luck vs Ballard.
#16
Smith is hands down the best coach around in my opinion. Very proud of both teams, what Frank did at SC in his first yr is a tremendous feat. Can't say enough how big that was.
BUT hats off to Johnson Central for another regional championship. I would love to see them shock the state and upset Ballard on Thursday!
Good luck JC and congrats to ALL the teams that made it to the 15th regional tourney, it was very enjoyable!
#17
Will be an interesting region next year.

JC returns everybody. Lawrence County and Sheldon Clark, tons of young talent also. The 57th alone will have plenty of standouts.

As an impartial spectator, I couldn't agree more. It was obvious that the game plan for the night was to have Parsley shot at will. Look at the numbers, his shot attempts stand out drastically compared to others. This was also evident in the expression on Kirk's face throughout the entire game. IMO, why go away from your normal game plan and have Parsley force the ball all night instead of running your usual offense??? Parsley ends up with 29 on the night, but your team goes home. Congrats Cards on a great season, but I believe Coach let this one go...

Congrats JC and good luck in RUPP.
#19
Great season for sheldon clark but kirk should have got the ball more, james should have got a few more shots. The 57 district will be loaded next year all 5 teams can play!
#20
I am a cardinal fan but I am so glad mine has already graduated. From my point of view they did run sets for James and Kirk but if they didn't have a open look from the 3 they give it right back to Parsley. Maybe they sHould have pushed the issue and tried going strong to the basket they are just little bigger than parsley but size don't mean nothing if you don't have the heart to go with it. You guys had a great tournament and brought a lot of pride back in the Inez community move on and get ready to make another run next year besides you lose nearly nothing. Great job coach hope you stick around for a while program going in right direction.

Congrats Eagles!

as good as the parsley kid is, I agree he was a problem for the cardinals in this game. The James kid was hot, hits two, the Parsley quits passing him the ball. I agree Kirk was frustrated all night, Parsley missed him for at least two wide open layups instead of passing he backed out and went 1 on 1. This was the Parsley that everone expected this year, thought coach smith had converted him to team leader, but big bad brought out old habits. I say this with no knowledge of coach smith's game plan, if it was for parsley to go 1 on 1 all night, then he blew it in the big game. Eithier way the cardinals play better as a team.

From what the radio said Parsley was responsible for the 37 of 48 points so without that it makes it 59 to 11 now that would have been real bad. Not trying to upset anyone but when you lose no need to start talking bad about kids they read this junk also. You must be a parent that's why I am glad my days are done no need to have hard feelings. Not worth it

I find it amazing the 15th has only had 4 different champions in the last 10 years.

I was a freshman in 2000 when JC went to state..... I remember the pep ralley when the team left.

Johnny Ray Turner pulling down the sheet that covered the new banner in the gym. We made a human tunnel all through the gym, out the main hallway all the way to their charter bus. And for these students and players to get to experience this twice in their high school years is something they will never forget.

I would think this is pretty common. I believe in the 9th region they have had only 2 or 3 teams win in the last 10 years.

I watched SC play in this tourney and was impressed with the team. as to your remarks "the Parsley that everyone expected this year" and "big bad brought out old habits" you must have some knowledge of him. What I see from him is a kid that wants to win and plays smart and hard to accomplish that. No need to bash kids but as far as parents go you need to get over it.

I went back and looked, and have to say I was wrong. the 9th region has had 5 teams over the last 10 years, I forgot that Dixie and Newport slipped in there. It just feels like Holmes and Cov Cath are there every year. Best of luck to JC.
