I don't think there is a state champ here. Clay and Harlan County are very good. They have to be the odds on favorite to win it. Clay getting the nod.

Middlesboro looked very very good tonight. Blake Davis had one of the best games I've seen from a Jacket since Michael Wilson last year in the District Tournament. This Yellow Jacket team can be sacry but I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. Clay Co is still the favorite to win the Region.

However there is areason why they play the games and anything could happen. Maybe Middlesboro could make a run and find their way to Rupp Arena

mboro is very athletic and hustles on every play.the 2 guards can dribble through a loaded phone booth and they have 2 that can shoot the deep three.they are exciting to watch and you never know when they will make a run.i think they will play clay well.

Congrats to Corbin on a great season and another fine coaching job from the Corbin staff. They exceeded everyone's expectations, while winning their 5th straight district championship. :Thumbs:

I agree with the coaching job on the season, but tonight left alot to be desired. Middlesboro's guards were too quick for the Corbin guards and continued to beat them off the dribble to the basket the entire 2nd half. We kept waiting on Corbin to switch to a zone but they never did. I really believe that Corbin just simply thought they were much better and would outscore Middlesboro. Two straight years now for Corbin with really bad 1st round region losses.

Don't get me wrong I think the coach from Corbin is an excellent coach. I just made that comment because it seems like you read a lot about Corbin getting favor calls in the 13th with their own officials. I wasn't taking anything away from Middlesboro, for I have always thought they could be the sleeper this year. Nice win Jackets, Good Luck

Referring to the way the game was called, the guys in my area felt that if it had been a 13th region crew calling it, we would have still been at the game. In my opinion the Jackets are the most athletic team in the 13th, they can really get up and down the floor and make plays. If they get in to a situation like they did against HC in the district finals, where they had to make free throws and could not throw one in the ocean, missed 28 in that game alone, that one area could do them in. Make no mistake they can win this region, as they can get hot late in the year and there coach gets every ounce out of each player, or they sit with him.Great win even greater game to have witnessed.

Middlesboro played a 2-3 zone for most of the game and the shots for Corbin did not go in like the 1st quarter.

If Middlesboro were to upset Clay they better play an A++ game and leave Clay's starting 5 on the bus. Foul trouble is the only way I think Middlesboro could even keep up.
