UK at 31st per rivals & 40th on ESPN.
I didn't think he had either, but looking through rivals they have him commited to FSU.

I cant remember the year but there was a similar situation not too long ago, but the mother forged the kids signature and faxed the papers.

Bryant picked FSU, despite the surprise of having a UK hat on the table. Can't fault a guy wanting to stay close to home for his baby daughter, good luck to him.

I'm sure that reference is to Tevin Lawson & possibly a couple of other guys with grade issues.
Lawson worries me & the similarities to the Elliot Porter situation are eerie. Elliot Porter flipped his commitment to UK due to a greyshirt being pinned to him. He chose UK, came here got lost in the depth chart at DT. Transferred back to LSU because he was home sick. He's now the backup center at LSU.
Lawson's was recently pinned with the dreaded greyshirt as well. His mother's issue is distance from his Louisiana home. Just seems to be deja vu.

I do think it will be better, but a promise? Stoops and company has to take this class & put the product on the field. We have to win ball games & not just non-conference games (cupcakes). We have to beat or at least be competitive against schools like Louisville, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, & Georgia. We also need to beat schools like Vandy, Mississippi State, Missouri, & Tennessee. That'll be a tough task, because if you haven't noticed all the SEC schools have Top 50 recruiting classes. Not to mentioned 12 of the 14 SEC schools are in the Top 30, 11 in the Top 25, 9 in the Top 20, 7 in the Top 12, 6 in the Top 10, 5 in the Top 8, 3 in the Top 5, & 2 in the Top 3. None of which are named UK. Yes this recruiting class is exciting, but there is plenty of work still to be done.

That's what he said the only thing that was mine was.....hmmm....I'd say Coach Stoops and company are already working on next year.

Couldn't have been put any better blur. While having a potentially top 25-30 class is exciting, it could be as long as 2-3 years before we really see this class as a whole make an impact. Next year I realistically dont expect any more than 4 wins, but I expect an improvement over the last few years. Fluid gameplan, competitive team, coaches who seem like the care or even know whats going on the entire game, etc. I would be happy to see that next year.

Is Hatcher's announcement on ESPNU? If not then where can we watch it

In an earlier interview with http://www.UKathletics.com, RB coach Chad Scott let it slip that Hatcher was committed to UK & then back tracked, by fumbling around then saying we hope to get him later today.
Stoops pushed back his press conference until 3:20. I'd imagine to give Hatcher, the spotlight.

Sorry but don't see what the the hype is about... right know rivals has our class rated 13th in the SEC and that's next to the bottom. Now these are teams we have to play against. We are rated next to last above Mizz. Scout has us rated last.... Come on guys

While that was somewhat of the point. My point was, if you have a good rated class then you have to put a product on the field. You have to win games, if not then the next class won't be so good. Kids won't want to come play for a school with a Top 25-30 class, if it's not winning. We have to win games, to get a better class. Look at Ole Miss & the class they're getting this year. It's because they won 7 games, of course there are other factors. But they see they can win, & with a better class win more. I have more expectations than 4 wins, we have 3 cupcakes. I'd like 6 or 7 wins, & a bowl game.

The hype isn't about the class being great, but the hype is about the class being greatly improved over anything we've had since rivals has started tracking classes. We are still behind in the sec, and no one should expect us not to be. Instead of class that is 50+ we are in the 30's and possibly even the 20s. We may not be ahead of 12 other sec schools but in terms of bringing talent in we closed the gap on the likes of vandy, ut, miss st, and ark.

Maybe because it's the highest rated class we've had in the 12 years of existence of Rivals star rating system. We have 7 4* signees rated by one of the 4 major recruiting sites, & Joker only had 8 total in his 3 seasons. Debbie Downer much??

I have the hope for 6 or 7, but I just dont see it. I would be absolutely ecstatic if we were to do it.

But still the schools in the conference are still higher.... Vandy is higher than uk and it's a much tougher school to get into and tougher to recruit.
02-06-2013, 03:48 PM
Vandy had an established coach who had more than roughly 3 months to recruit his class as well.

Ratings don't win ball games but recruits do. Proving my point further if Stoops & company can produce a product on the field, we may be able to out play & the coaches be able to out coach a team or two on the schedule. We wind up with 6 wins or so, & we get a better recruiting class next year. We had a plethora of 4* recruits on campus this year, more so than we've ever had. I'll say this if we can win ball games, he'll have one or more 5* recruits on campus next year. He's already got a few of the 2014 highly touted recruits hyped about UK.

Yep and Ark is sitting at 26 with 23 recruits while UK is at 31 with 21 guys signed, and may jump up around Ark when hatcher is added. When you compare the recent histories of Ark being more geared toward football, wouldn't you call that a move in the positive direction?
