He closer to taking it than you think...

I hate to say it, but I can see coach leaving the program. The state is in at Breathitt and will be there for who knows how long and to be honest there isn't much talent coming in over the next couple years. I'm not saying there is no talent, just that the days of having loaded classes is gone for the next couple of years. There isn't much left for Holcomb to accomplish at Breathitt, I can see why he would take a job elsewhere to try and build another powerhouse in the mountains. As for Kyle being named HC, I could not be more tickled. I remember him coaching me from my freshman year all the way to my senior year and beyond. I don't think there is anyone more deserving of the position. I hear he is already trying to straiten out the middle school program already, moving them back into the big sandy conference and scheduling the games.

I'm not saying he will or won't take it...
but I wouldn't have foreseen the Punkin/JPA fiasco going down in Perry County this past year and JPA leaving his post in Perry and it happened.

Things change...
and the same things that changed in Perry County have changed on a much larger scale in Breathitt County.

Holcomb leaving would not surprise me in the slightest.
It all boils down to if he wants to stir around his old stopping grounds and possibly retire in three years or does he want a change and build a program up. What Holcomb could have done with our kids with our facility three years ago.

Name the bet.

State is not going to go outside the current personnel to hire a football coach with all the layoffs coming at the end of the year. That is set in stone.
Smile Mis-informed again, you mus be in with the arch turner clan.........

If Holcomb does take over LCC, I hope Belfry can get them scheduled every year. He will definately improve that program and it would be a great game with just a little over an hour travel.
Heres what I got for what its worth heard from a very good source. Holcomb is coming to LCC and Moore will be the next guy at Breathitt.
Looking good for the cougars.

Nostradamus ^
Hilliard Howard didn't win big at LCC. Will Holcomb suffer the same fate. It is hard for me to understand this move. I am happy for LCC and think Breathitt has a stable of capable standard bearers for the program, but my god isn't the stadium named after Holcomb? In the words of Mel Gibson "lands, titles, shall I become Judas?"
So any news about this?
Won't know till next week. Last day to sign up for job is Friday.

Heard they gave it to Terry Howard.
Sweet Jesus! If they give it to him then they have given up on football.
What makes you say that?

Just because he was a moderately successful peewee coach does not mean he has what it takes to revive this program. No experience at this level of coaching. It's gonna take someone with a little bit of know how and thick skin to rebuild this program. Unlike a certain group of parents, the rest of us do not get giggly at the mention of his name.
