These two will probably meet again in the district tournament unless Owsley can defeat Estill by 9+ this Friday.

Estill is 3-13. Im still hearing rumblings that Estills coach maybe in trouble. Parents are starting to get hot! To many shots for one player is what I am hearing.

She's the best player, what else to you expect? The offense runs through her. They have other players that score and some score double digits but she is the leading scorer and I will ask the administration again tonight at the boys ball game.

I don't buy for one second he is in trouble. Anyone that follows the 56th knew this type of season was coming, maybe not "exactly" this bad, but still, rebuilding. And Flynn is pretty much the only one that creates offense, so I don't understand what plan B would be.

I don't see Owsley doing that so, it looks like we will meet again!

Have you guys never been around girls basketball parents of a team thats 3-13? And to cap it off one player is getting 75% of the shots? Think about it.

Also a just "average" player would score that much if they take that many shots. And a im talking 8th grade player.

I talked with the administration again tonight and they told me the same thing they did before that it was completely false. Estill knew they were headed into a rebuilding year so they've got to do what they've got to do to compete or atleast try to compete because they are young. 2 Seniors, 0 JR's the rest are SO, FR and like 2 middle schooler's. Coach McKinley is a nice guy, fun to be around, the girls love playing for him and yes I've been to their games, Kennedy does what she can because the offense runs through her, she's NOT the only one that scores. Hall scores a lot actually, Carter, Mansfield they all usually score...So until I hear it straight from Coach McKinley, Administration or in the newspaper after it has happened, I will not believe anything anyone says about Coach McKinley being on the hot seat because HE IS NOT!
If you had a good player like Kennedy wouldn't you want your offense to run through her if you was the coach?

Obviously whoever made the statement that the coach at Estill County is in trouble over his point guard Kennedy Flynn shooting too much hasn't been to many of the girls games. If you had you would have taken notice the last five games Kennedy has only scored 5 to 7 points in the first two periods. Which means to me that she is trying to get her team mates into the game and passing the ball. Once the game gets to the point that the opponent is way out in front the coach's point guard then tries to score and get the team back into the game..so conversely Kennedy Flynn scores 15 to 20 points in the last quarter and by then it is to late to overcome a lead by the opponent which is normally 15-30 points. My hat goes off to Ms. Flynn for being the kind of point guard most coach's would want...come to the games..watch the team and then find fault.

Your right on strikeout King.....

I was just told by some that parents were starting to growl and with a really bad season at Estill then maybe its just that. Upset parents. BUT upset parents rule sometimes.....no team is gonna win much with only one player taking all the shots, hence at 3-13 record.

I highly doubt parents are complaining they knew that the talent they lost last year that they were gonna have this type of season this year. Kennedy may lead the team in scoring but everyone that plays and theirs about 8 or 9 that plays, score and I talked to the administration twice on different occasions and both said the same thing that this was not true.
02-01-2013, 09:09 AM
strikeout 100% there are upset parents. I dont give a crap what the admins say they probably have not been contacted and if they were they are not gonna go telling everyone. This is like telling me that I am looking at a car and you telling me its a truck.

I don't believe it and won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes or hear it with my own ears
