Living in dorms or no dorms, that is a complete joke and a complete mockery of the KHSAA! Roderick Rhodes has been quoted as saying he wanted to turn Cordia High School into the Oak Hill of Kentucky but my gosh! If I were a 14th region school or coach, I wouldn't schedule Cordia to even a match in Checkers.

I believe if he is going to try and turn it into a school like Oakhill, then I believe they should have to play the Oakhill schedule as well. Rename school to "Cordia Prep"
01-22-2013, 03:13 PM
He has to build his program first. Maybe he wants a prep school
And will play that type of schedule soon. Rhodes may want to call school Cordia Trinity soon.

I just want to know how are these kids going to keep there eligibilty for college. Staying in dorms and also their parents living in dorms also.
01-22-2013, 05:45 PM
The dorms are there to be used.
01-22-2013, 06:43 PM
Dorms are there to be used but if not a prep school or private cant just be used by basketball players only. This is lok at extra benefits for players and could cost them eligibility in college

If every school in the 14th refused to play schools with transfers there would be no games to be played. How many teams in the 14th this year aren't playing transfers?
All the top schools are playing transfers. Knott, PCC, Hazard, Breathitt, and Cordia.

It's a d@$n shame. Julian Tackett's fat a$$should be terminated.

How good a team does Cordia have?
01-23-2013, 12:27 AM
Teams have been doing this for years. Maybe not getting that many transfers at once, but it happens. I can remember several very good players that have made it to schools in and just outside of Lexington, in the last 10 or 15 years.

What does his "fatass" have to do with transfers? Maybe he isn't doing a good job, but name calling is immature and makes you look rather pathetic.

You worry about your perception, and I'll worry about mine when and if the time comes.

Alot of folks going there. They say Cordia is nice this time of year.

From what I hear if you are a parent with a good player then its sounds like Cordia is the place to be....college coaches at your games every night and your practices everyday...team sitting in on UK practices and games....sounds like a good set up to me if your son has any talent.....not many high school programs around here can compete with that
01-23-2013, 11:20 AM
This Cordia program remindes me of University Heights in the 90's! At one time University Heights had three D-1 players on its team!!! Could this be Cordia's future?

Not if the school has the housing and makes provisions for students that come there from out of the area. This is done at military schools all over the country. How many students that don't play basketball come to Cordia from far enough out of the area that they would need to live in the dorms?

I was told by someone at the WYMT Tourament that the KHSAA was going to investagate not only Cordia but other schools in the region and that they were puting a stop to all the transfers in this region. Now I have to see it to believe it, This region is like the NCAA who can out recruite who if I was at Riverside I would start recruiting also. But like at Perry how many transfers hang on the wall in the gym were the regional champs are NONE. Only school that have won with transfers are Knott County and Hazard, and we all know Hazard would not have half the banners if not for transfers.

BUNCH OF CRY BABYS, wish we had that kind of talent in the 13th region, the games would be much more enjoyable to watch. Several schools have been doing this for years, now everyone wants to pick on Cordia. Playing against really good players will make Eastern Kentucky basketball players better and the region more respectable. If the school is not paying them, furnishing them transportation, giving them housing (other than a dormitory) I see nothing wrong with this. What sacrifices do you thing these kids make moving from hundreds of miles away to come and play ball at Lotts Creek.Yeah I agree the KHSAA is as useless as tits on a bore hog.

Some things never change in the 14th. Sounds as if the HAVE NOTS are trying to become the HAVE'S?????????????

:bball:thank you cordia will be plenty of college coaches in easten kentucky for every young ball player to get look at and if i was a school i would want to play cordia this is a dream pipe line for our kids who have some talent. and they are talent in eastern kentucky.

HaHa Perry didnt have transfers, lol......... By the way is a transfer a kid that left one high school to another, or chose to go somewhere out of 8th grade. because if a kid goes to an elementary school in one county and goes to high school in another county, is that a transfer?
01-23-2013, 03:48 PM
Who ever plays Cordia their top players will get recognized also. That's how east ky boys will benefit from this.
01-23-2013, 04:23 PM
Is it more fair that a school with 80-100 students in high school has 4-5 transfers that play for them or is it more fair that a school that small with no feeder program has to play schools with 1000-1500 students in high school. I don't mind transfers since all school do it. Cordia just has more in one year compared to 1-3 other schools get from year to year, which most of those schools already have many more students and feeder schools associated with them. I say keep them coming Cordia, I like to watch good basketball.

Exuse me, but that is laughable..Perry definitely had transfers..Sumner ring a bell..graduate of Carr Creek Elementary. Jamie fugate- Cordia. Emmanuel Harris- Carr Creek..along with others and if ur not talking about gradeschool transfers then KCC's victory last year was without transfers. Your welcome.

Personally, I don't have any problems with it at all as long as everything is being done legally. From what I've seen this Cordia team is very talented.
