As ive said all year long, im waiting for next year.
Think of this as a year of reflection and waiting.
Next year is the year. Mark it down.
When Wiggins signs, its over.

That i did good sir.
The kid looks like hes a step above everyone else, just by watching him move around on the floor.
Dont forget that Randle still hasnt signed with anyone either!
I just hope Wiggins wants to be a part of something and not the hero, and go somewhere he will star.

The Cats were a head bigger than A&M team that had NO SIZE, yet we let them get rebounds that they had no business getting to. The number of poor passes that led to A&M pick and score began in the first minute of the game! Again I ask, this game was fraught with allowing a team that had no business being on the floor with UK, yet you say UK didn't play that bad????????????????????? Amazing!
I Love UK. UK Sucked today!
We cut the lead to 4 points with 4 or 5 mins to go and Rupp was busting with cheers, the kid came down knocks a 3 down from 25 feet. What can you do with that? We had hands in his mouth. Cats did let them get rebound after rebound but still they didn't play that bad at all. Texas A&M just had an answer for every run UK threw at them.

I think he eventually does...Well, for what its worth, Im not a UK basketball fan, but I feel good for you guys that stick with them through thick and thin, and are always positive. You are as passionate about UK basketball as I am about Alabama football, and I can respect that. Poythress is smart, has an NBA body, and has NBA talent, and we all know that, but he's pissing away millions with this lethargic play.

They better not wait a few weeks.

The SEC may not be as weak as thought. I give you Ole Miss beating Missouri and the Texas A&M games as examples.

Alex Poythress is not playing well but he is not hurting UK IMO he doesn't fit into Cal's system, he is not tall enough to score from the post and that is not his fault. Archie Goodwin's wild and selfish play has cost UK 3 or more games. He is a careless ball handler who turns the ball over at key times. He is not a good shooter and is a poor free throw shooter. Goodwin is totally over rated IMO. It seems the UK staff has pushed Poythress to shoot the "floater" when what he simply needs to do is pull up for a jump shot. Poythress is a good shooter and can help UK if Cal will use him right and allow him to gain confidence. Goodwin needs put on the end of the bench and told if he plans to make the NBA he better become the best defender on the team because IMO he is not close to DeAndre Liggins in basketball skill. Goodwin has hit the shoot clock, shot "Air Balls" from the foul line, took it one on 3 a two dozen times. If Cal was smart he would bench Goodwin and this team would turn around fast!

In a few weeks it won't matter because the season will be over and Paypal Cal will go from champ to chump in one year.

And before you guys give me grief on WVU/Huggy, let me say this. Huggy has a bunch of knotheads that cannot shoot, one that will not play team ball, and a Turk that is about a worthless as teets on a boar hog. :flame:

The Cats' problems deal less with their individual basketball ability and more with their overall ability to perform and use their skill as a team. This team has yet to consistently click. I've seen it for stretches, such as the first half vs Maryland or the latter portion of the second half vs Louisville. The potential is there for Kentucky to become a great team again, they just can't seem to flip the switch and keep it on.

This team has one glaring problem - ONE & Only ONE! Leadership!
This team has no experience in how to play this system! There is No Patrick Patterson as in year 1; Harrelson, Liggins and Miller in year 2; and Miller, Jones and Lamb in year three! Those guys helped the yournger guys adjust. This group of Freshman (and Sophomore Harrow) are every bit as talented as the first three years of Super Frosh. But you cannot put the inability of leadership on there shoulders. It took someone to teach Wall, Cousins, Teague & Knight and the rest of great players how to play great! Coaches can't teach players maturity! It takes a leader on the practice floor, running the same number of suicides as them, to learn maturity!
I have no doubt that this team can be good in March. However, with no one to lead this team, it's going to be very tough. So stop knocking the players and saying non-sense that they are not as good as other classes! That's BS. These guys are every bit as good, but they only became the great players on the floor because of the Senior leaders who were on the floor with them. Unless some of these guys who are here now, decide to stay like the talented players Jones and Lamb, you guys are all going to be disappointed in your "greatest team ever" thinking.
If next years squad comes in and has no one to look up to but themselves, guess what, you will get the same results as this year. If you have every played team sports before, then you know what I am talking about. If not, you only see it through blue tinted glasses wishing for miracles that are just not existent!

I agree with what you are saying. IMO Cal needs to play the right people. If Cal doesn't learn to control Goodwin he had better learn to spell NIT! I would like to see him start Harrow, AP, WCS, NN and Mays and bench Goodwin. IMO Goodwin is killing this team. He doesn't play team basketball, he is a poor passer and shooter and IMO Jon Hood is a much better BASKETBALL PLAYER. Basketball is not a track meet being a good athlete will only get you so far. No team can click when they fight there way back to take the lead and one guy either takes a bad shot or throws the ball away. AP is a baseline player who can be a player like Larry Johnson that finishes well on the break and shoots from the elbows and hits a open 3 from time to time, he's not a guy you want shooting a facy little "Floater'! I have no idea why Cal's staff is teaching this floater to him??? IMO Wilter didn't do anything over the summer to improve his body. IMO he needs redshirted and needs to spend a year working to improve his bulk, speed and strength. We all know that he can shoot the ball and is a skilled passes and smart player but to have a shot at the NBA he needs strenght. In December we all remember Cal referring to Wilter in the same sentence as Larry Bird

Hood is better shooter, better ball handler, better passer and team player, remember Hood won the Kentucky Mr Basketball. Goodwin is by far a better athlete. Being great athlete can only take one so far in the game of basketball. Dwight Howard is a great athlete but back in the 80's he would have had to played on the right team to have been a starter. Kareem, Mose Malone, Robert Parrish, Bill Walton were all better basketball players and Howard would have been their back-up at best. Young guys today all think the game is better now but the fact is there are more great athlete playing but the Skill leval is much lower. Dwight Howard = Darryl Dawkins only Dawkins was better free throw shooter. I don't smoke anything I call it like I see it! I saw Goodwin hit the shot clock at ND, and shoot a Air ball on a foul shot! He couldn't hold MKG, Lamb or Miller's jock, he is selfish too boot. Goodwin better go Pro this year because when those twins get to UK he will be watching from the bench!

LOL...me too!!!
But, Honestjchsfan is correct to a point.
Goodwin impresses me to a great degree, and should he choose to mature in his thinking, he will be one of the greatest to ever hit the hardwood. Hood, on the other hand, is everything jchsfan said PLUS (and this is the most important in my book) he has the mind of a basketball player, and can read the other teams' offenses/defenses and act accordingly. Goodwin isn't there, yet.
I'm not sure about who's jock he can hold

Noel is the only one giving it all hes got every minute. The rest of the team just stands around and lets the other team gain rebounds.... what ever happened to them diving after the ball?! They just don't care, I had high hopes for this season too, but the only player I like on the team is Noel, hes a ball player.

I think defensively we have one player that can play solid d. And that goes to Noel. Everyone else gets lost on d. IRS awful to watch sometimes.

Sean Woods was right all along... what kind of basketball players doesn't know any history of the school they are going to at all... I mean I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but anyone who watches college basketball knows about the Kentucky vs Duke game.. and the Laettner shot... THEY SHOW IT 10000000000x a year!
I know I'm getting a little off topic, but that just goes to show you some of the players don't have heart at all. They may have talent, but they are lacking a real leader. I'm hoping Noel sticks around and becomes a leader.

^ I'm not! I hoping that Noel can turn his talent to the NBA, become a lottery pick next year, and become financially set for life before he blows out his knee and the only thing that he leads is his team at Walmart!
