Happens every year when we go down to Vandy. They can have one game at home that they actually get up for/circled on their calendar/schedule and it's always against Kentucky
#4
UK got out hustled. Out fought. Out shot. Out everythinged.

You can't just coast when you get a lead. You never get the edge back.
#5
Memorial is always a dangerous place for Kentucky

The refs missed a crucial shot clock violation, but made up for it on the UK inbound player. Other than that, well officiated.

Hopefully this game take UK on a nice run

Completely out played in the second half. Thank goodness for poor offciating at its finest.

If the shot clock violation wasn't an unreviewable call, then Kentucky probably loses this game in either regulation or overtime. If another minute would have been played, Kentucky loses either way.

This Kentucky team played a heartless second half that I could barely stomach. That was by far the WORST they have played all season. People thought the Notre Dame game was bad, at least ND had a decent team. Vanderbilt is gawd awful and you could see it, even when they were playing well.

Player reviews:

Ryan Harrow - Played a good game until the last 15 minutes of the second half and fell into the massive lapse that everyone else did.

Nerlens Noel - Nerlens hustled and played some game saving defense of a few Vanderbilt possessions. He had an average game overall.

Willie Cauley-Stein - Wasn't really much of a factor tonight. He made a few decent plays, but can't seem to put the ball in the basket unless it's a dunk.

Kyle Wiltjer - Horrid, just horrid. I can barely watch him sometimes. It's not his fault either, really. I don't think he should see the court for the time that he does. Usually three pointers are shot over a zone (which is the only reason why Wiltjer is ever in a game), but the type of zone Vandy was playing wouldn't allow that unless penetration was made (instead of the completely stagnant offensive sets we tried to run, that's on you Cal).

Archie Goodwin - Out of control, as usual, trying to make the flashy play. He needs some one-on-one work like some of the other players are getting.

Julius Mays - Shoots way too much for someone in a month-long slump. He can't throw it in the ocean. Had some big lapses in the second half as well as everyone else did. I am highly doubting him to be the calm, cool "senior leader" we had all hoped for.

Am I forgetting anybody? Nah don't think anyone else seen playing time other than Polson. I thought I saw someone wearing a #22 jersey for Kentucky on the court at times. I'm not sure though. Did anyone else see what I'm talking about or was I seeing an INVISISIBLE PLAYER?

My gosh Alex, get it together and act like you want to play basketball. You made an embarrassment of yourself in front of your hometown.

Even when it plays in your favor, you still bring up poor officiating. Confusednicker:

Kids in middle school know that penetration and movement against a zone are the only ways to find baskets.

I don't understand why we have been motionless and passing the ball around the arc all season long whenever a team goes zone against us.

Cal, what's up with that?

How about a drunk Bobby Knight not knowing what in the **** was going on when Noel didn't get called for the shot clock violation? How did Rece Davis not laugh in his face?

I literally was almost in tears laughing during the confusion Knight had that lasted over a minute and a half. I still don't think he knows what the **** happened.

Which makes me a true hater. Not just because it doesn't favor me.

I felt the same way. That was absolutely hilarious to listen to, but very embarrassing for him at the same time.

I thought we were getting better. I was wrong.

If u dvr'd it then go back and watch the clock on top. From what I saw the shot clock hit zero at 18.2 seconds. The ball was out of his hand at 17.3. So a full second hadn't fully passed. That's what I saw anyway.

Goodness. Kentucky fell apart in the second half, they really regressed. Hopefully this game will light a fire under them. We had Nerlens, WCS, and Poythress out there the whole game pretty much and got out rebounded by the worst team in the SEC 42-37 (including 20 offensive boards for Vandy), that's going to have to change or Florida and Missouri will kill us.

the shot clock is like the game clock though, once it hits zero that's it. If the ball is still in your hands, it's a violation, unless the official doesn't see the clock, which was the case here.

There is no way anybody can say that shot should have counted, come on admit it, UK got a huge break on the road and that does not happen very often.

I thought UK looked bad in the first half too, they had a big lead just because Vandy is terrible.

No no no. The time it takes the shot clock to go from '1' to '0' is what you are referring to. When the shot clock hits '0' there is NO time left. The shot clock buzzer (not the game clock buzzer, Bobby Knight) sounded before the ball left his hand. It should NOT have counted.

I agree with you. I didn't feel Kentucky was playing that good even in the first half. They maintained a double-digit lead for most of the half, but it certainly didn't feel like it to me. Vandy is just that awful.

I still say that was the worst game the Cats played all season.

Most times even the shot clock has a tenth mark. But I didn't see one. And I was just trying to measure by the game clock.

They need the red goal ring. I thought it was a violation also until I watched the game clock. Then I thought he just missed by a tenth of a second.

Is this Bobby Knight? LOL

The shot clock has never had a decimal. The red ring on the backboard only lights up when the game clock expires, not the shot clock.

Well I feel like a big idiot.

Wish I was bobby knight. Or had his money anyway.

Sorry bout that I had a big time brain fart. You are correct though. I had to go back and watch some shot clock videos.

Guess it's a good thing I didn't say they need more than 24 seconds to shoot lol
