Kentucky @ (5) Louisville 12/29
#1
How does this game shape up? My Cards friends are adament that this game is a blowout victory. I honestly don't see it that way. Its a rivalry game that means nothing to the young Cats. We have not had a team with players around long enough to know what the rivalry is all about. Thus, this is just a game versus a high ranked team whom they know they need a signature win against. This is a game where the young Cats mature.

If Kentucky can't shoot any better than they have been than I'm afraid your Loserville friends may be right.
#3
If Dieng is cleared to play, which according to Pitino is possible, then UK has no chance. Louisville is a lot deeper and bigger with Dieng.

UK by 84.

Dusty, dude, you're getting more and more out of touch, lol. Just because we have frosh doesn't mean they don't know how big this rivalry is and what it means to us. I'm sure they know all about it.

I think we take this game alot like the ladies did.

Louisville by at least 10.

No vundy, they do not know what this game is. There is no experience that tells them what this game is. That comes from being part of a rivalry, and if you have not been part of it, you have no clue to what the significance to it is. Your unintelligent comment about being out of touch is only from your own lack of experience to understand how this works. I live it egery year, so I'm not talking from an outsiders perspective pretending I know! I coach in this type of environment, so vundy, I know from real experience when we have a group coming through who have yet to be part of it. Confusedhh:

I'm afraid that the Cats are going to get beat but I'm going with them to win by 5 anyway because I hate Louisville.
#9
Louisville should win really isnt it about time?
#10
Dusty, i'm gonna have to side with Vundy on this one.

You have some in state boys on this team who know all about what this game means. I think that the in state boys have gotten into the rest of the teams heads by now how much this game means in the Commonwealth.

Im a diehard card fan but I know better than a blowout game for either team. Im gonna take my cards by 7 though. 70-63. If Dieng plays maybe a double digit win

I'm always one to look at common opponents... Duke.

Louisville lost to Duke by 5.

Kentucky lost to Duke by 7.

That really shows that this should be a VERY close game.

I see this game really coming down to the wire.. Plus you have to factor in, maybe since the Wildcats have played 4 nobodies in a row and won them all, they might have matured a little bit and got a little better.

^ i agree, but a big difference there is Dieng didn't play against Duke, and he makes Louisville much deeper at forward and center
#20
^ Its not like Dieng has been working out, running the drills, and has any kind of game chemistry. I don't think he's going to make that much of a difference
#21
where Dieng will make a difference is having a fresh, tall, experienced body that can rotate in with Price, Harrell, Van Treese and Blackshear, which will wear down Noel and Poythress early. Louisville can afford to be really physical down low
#22
What if UK blows out Loserville?
I wonder what would be said then?
This is the first year since the Billy G era that Lville is the favorites.

Maybe since theyve lost to Duke already they might realize they cant beat the dream team like once thought Confusednicker:

This early in the year, Louisville by 15. By the end of the year if the point guard play gets much better, the Cats would win.
#25
Cards win by 8.

Gut, we disagree about 98% of the time. So I'm gonna say the Cats by only 82.

As many of you know, my son is best friends with one of the UK Managers, a kid that I coached AAU Basketball and summer baseball for over 10 years. My son asked him what this "Rivalry" meant to the UK players. He reply was "they don't". Simply put, these kids don't have the history, and for them, this is a nationally televised game with a chance to knock off a top 10 team. But it being the "other team from the state", that part means nothing to them. Cal does not even refer to the term of rivalry at any time. The rivalry is purely for us fans!

As for the starting line-up today, their is a game time decision as to whether Cauley-Stein starts and Poythress comes off the bench.

For any UK player that stays more then 1 year will see this as a rivalry game because of the fans on both sides. Kyle Tucker tweeted the UL fans are chanting F**K UK!!!
