Kentucky Recruits

Travis Wright would be a good fit, but they are a bunch of QB out there.

I'm always for an in state kid, especially if it could help sway the likes of Hatcher, Quick, & White. Of course, he would be behind Smith, Whitlow, Towles & Phillips at this point. Never hurts to have QB's on the roster, as seen this past season.

Any news on recruits today?

It'll be quiet until after the New Year as it's the dead period. We may pick up another JUCO or two but that'll be all you hear.

Enjoy the commitments of Smith & Borden, as that'll be all we get. Right now I'd say the staff is reviewing film & making decisions on who to chase next & who to let out of commitments. I wouldn't be surprised to hear of some transfers off the current roster either.

I was suprised to see UK was ranked 20 spots in front of UL in Rivals recruitng rankings.UK was #58,and UL was #78.

Bill Greene ‏@BillBankGreene Aregeros Turner has decommitted from Cincy. Considering Kentucky and Tennessee.

Turner is a three star Cincinnati (de)commit from Copley, OH. He is the #11 RB according to Rivals & #65 CB according to Scout in the nation. He is being recruited by Vince Marrow & is scheduled to visit 1/11/13. Maybe he'll take in the Texas A&M basketball game on 1/12/13 & be wooed by the BBN. He is believed to be a UK lean, now.

Trinity’s James Quick was named Kentucky Mr. Football yesterday by the Associated Press and also cut his list to 2 teams.

"Mr. Football James Quick said he is definitely down to UofL and Ohio State. Said they are about even, then later said UofL still slight No.1"

Kentucky was cut from his list and really didn’t have a chance with the new coaching staff getting into the fray so late in the game.

If that coach had left for UT then we have gotten him. Once he stayed it was a long shot.

I interviewed a NJ QB, Anthony Sciliano, Class of 2014. Hell of a kid and player, his style reminds me so much of Russell Wilson because he's short like him. Played in a mix of Spread and Pro offenses his entire life so he doesn't have much of a problem with that. He was committed to FSU, but decommitted and is now considering UK big time. I really, really think he will be a Cat.
.
Per KSR, USF (de)commit 4 Star QB Asiantii Woulard will visit UK on 1/11/12 along with high school teammate & UK commit DB Blake McClain.

Woulard is considered the 4th best overall QB & the top dual threat QB in the nation.

Here are his profiles:

That would be Stoops best pickup yet, and better than any pickup Joker ever had!

Stoops may have already done that by signing Za'darius Smith.
Blur, what's the latest? I haven't heard nothing as of late

Dead period ends at midnight Friday morning, we should have some news by friday at noon. Outside of Sting's son & Za'darius signing, I heard Woulard, the aforemention QB, is high on Neal Brown & the air raid offense.
I seen on twitter that Ben Bradley (4* DT) from Kansas is expected to visit both Kentucky and Auburn this weekend and make his final decision Monday Morning. He's got 4 schools that he's high on, Kentucky, Nebraska, Auburn, Missouri

Haven't seen his visit confirmed yet, but the info is good about his interest in Kentucky. He went from having no interest in UK to them being in his top 2, along with Auburn. So it make sense for him to visit the two schools with new staffs & make a decision. He's another JUCO kid, & if I'm not mistaken they can be actively recruited during the dead period. He's rated higher than Za'Darius Smith. Would be another huge get.
Ben Bradley @IamAmbition98
This weekend I will be visiting the University of Kentucky and Auburn before I make my final decision Monday morning!

I also hear Ryan Timmons is a Kentucky lean. Also, I hear James Quick is headed to OSU.
Rashaad Samples @10justscored

Samples is the 4 star WR that is currently committed to Oklahoma State but has a great relationship with Neal Brown. Brown & Texas Tech finished second in his previous recruitment.

Also visiting but yet to be mentioned is 3 star WR Janarion Grant out of Dade City, FL. We are now in his Top 4 with Ok State, WVU, & USF.

So on campus this weekend will be:
Ben Bradley 4 Star DT JUCO player out of Kansas
Asiantii Woulard 4 Star QB USF decommit & #4 QB in the Nation
Ra'Shaad Samples 4 Star WR Committed to Oklahoma State
Aregeros Turner 3 Star RB/DB Cincinnatti decommit
JoJo Kemp 3 Star RB out of Deland, FL
Janarion Grant 3 Star WR out of Dade City, FL who now has us in Top 4
Blake McClain 3 Star DB Current UK commit & Woulard's HS teammate
Anthony Sciliano said he didn't know if he was gonna make his commitment in 2013 or 2014 that only time would tell and that it's suppose to be televised. I don't think he's mentioned KY here lately. I know he's mentioned going to Rutgers and he's texted Chris Petersen of Boise State so who knows.

I think this is a case of him wanting UK & them not being so interested. With the possibility of landing Woulard, I think the writing was on the wall for Sciliano.
I made a mistake, not all those guys are visiting this weekend. It appears as the dead period ends this weekend, visits for high school recruits don't reopen until the following weekend. Here's who the Cats have on the agenda for upcoming visits.

This weekend:
Ben Bradley 4 star DT-JUCO player out of Kansas, originally from Georgia. Will make decision Monday morning after visiting UK & Auburn this weekend.
01/11/13:
Ra'Sheed Samples 4 star WR Dallas, TX-OK State commit but has a great relationship with Neal Brown
Asiantii Woulard 4 Star QB Winter Park, FL-USF decommit & HS teammate of UK commit Blake McClain
Jason Hatcher 4 Star DE Trinity-USC commit but is visiting UK along with Florida, USC, & Louisville
Aregeros Turner 3 Star RB Akron, OH-Cincinnati decommit & has UK in Top 3 with Cincinnati & Tennessee
JoJo Kemp 3 Star RB Deland, FL-Has UK in Top 4 with Tennessee, Pitt, & USF
Avonte Bell 3 Star DE Mirmar, FL-UK commit
Janarion Grant 3 Star WR Dade City, FL-Has UK in Top 4 along with OK State, USF, & WVU
Blake McClain 3 Star DB Winter Park, FL-UK commit & HS teammate with Woulard
Antoine Miles 3 Star DE Canton, OH-UK only visit scheduled
01/18/13:
Jeff Badet 3 Star WR Orlando, FL-Has UK in Top 4 with Nebraska, NC State & Wake Forest
Javess Blue 3 Star WR-JUCO player out of Kansas & has also already visited Mississippi State
Marquez Valdes 3 Star WR St. Petersburg, FL-Has UK in Top 5 with Cincinnati, Houston, NC State & Toledo
Stafon McCray 3 Star RB Kissimmee, FL-Has UK in Top 3 with Marshall & Utah State
Rapheal Cox 2 Star DT-JUCO player out of Texas & current New Mexico commit
Other recruiting news:
Sean Paul 3 Star DB Vero Beach, FL-Has UK in Top 4 with Louisville, NC State & Wake Forest
Eric Mayes 3 Star DE Sarasota, FL-Has UK in Top 6 with Indiana, Marshall, Purdue, USF, & WVU. UK his only visit, which was back in September.
Darien Williston 2 Star DE Bushnell, FL-Has UK in Top 3 with Iowa State & Missouri
How many scholarships do we have available?
redhound93 Wrote:How many scholarships do we have available?

Each non-probated school is allotted 25 scholarships per year & at any given time a team is allowed to carry 85 players on scholarship. We currently have two players that are signed (Borden & Smith). So that puts us down to 23 & we currently hold 14 other commitments. I'd imagine if Stoops can pull better recruits than current scholarship players or commitments, he'll start releasing players from their scholarships.
I hear UK is in the lead for the FL RB. Also Asiantii Woulard's dad said that if his visit goes well when he comes to UK that he will commit to UK
Strikeout King Wrote:I hear UK is in the lead for the FL RB

According to an interview with Woulard's father, UK is the QB's new favorite & he could commit next weekend during his visit if offered.
I saw him on YouTube and was really impressed on his ability to look for the open receiver. If we get him, then I am telling you that is big time.

U.S. Army All-American defensive end Jason Hatcher says he's built relationships with UK's Mark Stoops, D.J. Eliot.
