1. Johnson Central - Lost to Sheldon Clark at Sheldon Clark, but I'm sure most people would agree they are the best team in the 15th right now.

I honestly need to see more games before I rank the rest. There is a lot of question marks for me. I have an idea of how I think they should be ranked, but I don't wanna post it until I find out more about some teams. Like I see teams with good records but don't really have that true quality win to give them an edge over any other team (doesn't mean they aren't a legit team by any means), and I see teams that I know are good and haven't beaten weaker teams the way they should have or have even lost to teams that I know they should have beaten. None of this is bashing any team in any way, I just want to give myself a chance to find out more about the rest of these teams.

But I might go ahead and post my rankings later and make changes as I find out more about each team.

It's very hard to rank them right now. #2-#10 can all beat each other on any given night. I hate to see 7-2 or 8-1 teams that beat up on really bad teams getting high rankings. The tough schedules will pay off in the end.
#35
^ My thoughts exactly. very hard to rank 2-10 up to this point, IMO. I think after Christmas we will have a little better idea of how they all rank.

Belfry0304 Wrote:No love for the Pirates? Win by 10 @ Jenkins (believe they actually beat Paintsville) and one of the tougher players in the region with Messer. Think this could shape up as a pretty good year for the Pirates. You haven't heard the name Brett Charles alot, but has 20 ppg through the first 2 and put up similar numbers in the preseason.

Can't believe SCHS honestly, figured losing Johnson would hurt big but wow... Smith doing a great job.

No offense but beating Jenkins isn't that big of a feat.
#37
Then how is losing to Jenkins, not? Because Paintsville did and they're ranked relatively high by most people. I don't think we're 2 or 3 but definitely not 10 or 11
#38
^Cause it was a freak thing and an eye opener. Paintsville couldn't have throwed it into a baseball field from just outside the fence. Prolly one of the worse shooting nights ever for the school and I'm not talking about missing jacked up 3s. Tiller had his 20. the other 4 starters had 17. Not the same team since that night. But, I agree. We still have a lot to prove.

^ those things just happen sometimes. But alot people "don't buy it". Which is crazy, because I've seen it happen before. I think alot of teams still have alot to prove which is why I didn't do a ranking!
#40
^Shooot, you witnessed the opposite last season...lol. Remember when Collins for us COULDN'T MISS against you guys. He was shooting it from 30 ft, sideways, squared up, over one person, over two people...lol. It was something to see that night wasn't it.

Dude that kid seriously couldn't miss!!! Lol. It was wild! Haha. Pretty sure he pulled a 30ft hook shot hahahaha

Just my opinion but does anyone agree that the new coaching staff for Magoffin has to take most of the blame for the hornets rough season?

Quintipple post?

I know, I wish a mod would fix it. I don't know how it happened.

The region as a whole is bad. Some call it parity, some call it young, I call it BAD!!!

Descent young talent in the region, but some bad, bad coaching at times and all the teams have GLARING weaknesses.

Impressed with Lawrence Co., Sheldon Clark, Paintsville, Belfry, Pikeville, and Shelby Valley at times, but others have me shaking my head.

Disappointed in Betsy Layne, Pike Central, Magoffin, and Johnson Central.

Iv had it happen to me before too.

Lawrence county beat Ashland, Shelby Valley, Maggofin by 22, East Carter, Raceland, Powell, Prestonsburg by 30.. Any thoughts? 9-16 are freshman with 1 sophomore playing varsity.
#56
You can sit and watch the 15th region games like I was able to this past week and clearly see that the 57th district is the best district in the region and more then likely the winner of the region will come out of it. Shelby Valley, East Ridge, and Betsy Layne would be the only teams maybe Pikeville that could compete on a daily basis in the district. You can watch the 57th district teams play, then the others and there is a huge drop off. Just my opinion, but what do you think?
#57
I didn't get to watch Pikeville in person, how are they this year? Should they beat Paintsville?
#58
Paintsville has a really nice team. Tiller is a competitor and a really good athlete. I like Luke Trimble, and Cash Daniels and Matt Daniel. They are a very athletic team.

That looks pretty good. 2-10 is hard to rank IMO. I think Lawrence County could be moved up a couple spots maybe.
