On the athletic side there is plenty of money, UK's athletic program actually turns a profit.

Real Badman Wrote:No, at Kentucky it is. I have several friends who worked on the program this past season, Sanders was barely making over 1m. Money is tight at Kentucky, thus the raise in tuition.
The raise in tuition has nothing to do with Athletics at UK....the raise was to cover faculty salaries and "enhance" the academic campus.
UK's Athletics program is self sustaining and then some. They actually contribute money to other departments at the University. The reason they can't just spend as they want is due to legislation with it being a State funded University. I think this is so you don't get people in power just blowing through money.

Rumor going around is that Neal Brown will be on Kentucky's campus this weekend to be introduced as Kentucky's OC. I have also heard that he will be bringing Chad Scott with him and possibly another Texas Tech Coach along with him.
Let's hope and pray that this is true

The teams that were open that were looking at Brown
Arkansas State - Heard that it's 85% chance that they hire Petrino
LA Tech - They have interest but haven't heard anything about Brown going to or being interviewed by them
Southern Miss - Brown is a candidate but he's not one of the top candidates he maybe 4th or 5th and word has it from Southern Miss that they are only considering current HC's or coaches that have HC experience
Again all these are rumors but that's what's going around. I just heard about Brown to Kentucky just a few minutes ago.

Thank you chief for saying everything I said within more detail. I'll be sure to write a book next time.

Should know something by Monday. John Clay tweeted that it's a good chance that Brown to UK get's resolved sometime this weekend but no announcement until Monday. I also had someone sent me a direct message on twitter saying it was getting closer and closer, this person happens to be very close to the UK program but we shall see

I came across this on another site.
a decision is expected by Monday. Brown's Agent says he's doesn't think that Brown is the leading candidate for any of the following 3 HC jobs.
Arkansas State - trying to get Petrino, hear it's about 85-90% chance he ends up there by Monday or Tuesday
LA Tech - is wanting Monken (OK State OC)
Southern Miss - has 3 coaches ahead of him (Withers, Bama OC and UNC OC)
So if this is true then this is good news for Kentucky

Texas Tech HC, Tommy Tuberville will be introduced as Cincinnati Bearcats HC. Competition just got heavier.

Yeah pretty much. I would look for some sort of an announcement here in the coming days
I hear Southern Miss has eliminated Brown from their coaching position. LA Tech may give him an interview but I don't think he's a serious contender for that job

Im just curious why Brown is even being considered for some of these coaching jobs.
Has it been because hes been coming to UK all along? Or other reasons?

He's young (32). Runs that very high powered Air Raid offense. He's been a hot name this season.

Brown was the first to interview at LA Tech. He will be here on Monday. Not sure if it's to sign the contract, talk to coaches or what the deal is but as of now he's not UK's OC and we probably won't know nothing until Monday. Maybe sometime Sunday. I still believe he ends up at UK as OC

Where is Peveto from...the only Peveto I could find is from LSU, Northwestern St. And if thats true should be a nice addition. Our defense will be a steel wall in the next few years.:Clap::Thumbs:

That would be him.
Also a lot of reports coming out on twitter saying that Tennessee WR Coach Darin Hinshaw will be Kentucky's WR coach. That's another big big get. He is one hell of a recruiter

Any word about Stoops' brother coming from Youngstown?
12-09-2012, 03:06 AM
Kentucky Recruiting @RecruitKentucky 45m @Brewcrew1923 100%. Brown will be named OC early this week. Monday most likely. Scott a couple days after.
12-09-2012, 11:02 AM
Brown, Scott and Hinshaw would make this Offense one of the best in the country. Really need a solid O-Line coach though skill players are only as good as the hogs up front.

Matt Jones tweeter that Neal Brown will be in Lexington TODAY s d that we should know something by tomorrow

Brown made 300K at Tech per season, he's getting 600K per season at Kentucky. Chad Scott, John Schlarman will join Coach Stoops staff.

WKYT-WYMT has learned former Widcats Neal Brown, John Schlarman and Chad Scott will join Mark Stoops'staff at UK.
