Do u TXT?
#1
It was twenty years ago today that the first text was sent

Dec. 3 marks the 20th anniversary of the first text message sent to a mobile phone.
British engineer Neil Papworth was just 22 years old when he sent the first ever SMS (Short Messaging Service) from his computer to a friend's Orbitel 901 mobile phone.
The message read "Merry Christmas."

Yep sure do.

Some. We have a family plan for texts, but I probably don't send more than 30-40 a month.
#4
My grand daughter can text 40 times in as many seconds.
Fastest thumbs on the planet!
#5
I prefer texting over talking on the phone.
#6
I do not enjoy texting.

You can talk a sentence out much faster.
#7
Around 3k a month. Used to be double that in high school.
#8
by the way I've never sent a single text
#9
^^
Wow!!! That's hard to believe! Even I text every now and again.
#10
I don't do a whole lot of texting.
I do most of my communication over the phone or through email
#11
I'd much rather talk to someone than text, but I do.

I text a lot during baseball season. It is our primary communication tool with our players.

Other than that, it's primarily with my wife and kids, or when WildcatK23 bugs me...Confusednicker:

Yes. As a pastor, I had to learn how to communicate in almost every way very quickly.

I told you what would happen if you took your daughter phone again.

Around 12,000 per month.

Probably 75% of that is ESPN and Twitter texts updating me on games and news concerning my teams.

I'd say talking to people I am around 3-4,000 per month.

Well, after SK's tirade about "UK SUCKS", we now no why WCS had to shut down his twitter text account....

Texting can be good for directions, shopping lists/list of materials for a project...

I will reply 1 message at a time to a text.... thats it, 1 reply text. If the other person keeps sending texts to me about the same thing, I'll just call them myself. If it's that important, I think it should be done over a phone, not with a text.
#18
Now if somebody like SK, Dusty or QQ were to text me.... I'd reply back with a book.

Then I would copy and paste their text's and my replies to BGR so everybody could see that those three actually sent me a text, no matter what it said. Talk about feeling on top of the world.

I'd probably change my avatar to one of their messages.......

I HAVE texted a lot..
MVP2 knows I love to text..
But I will say this.. I am respectable when it comes to it..
I only text if i have a question or if I have to say something..
MVP2 is an asshole that doesnt mind texting..
And I actually love getting text messages soo..

Yes I text, I don't know my record for the month but I'm sure it outlast any person on BGR's record. I used to be known as the Lady Killer not Legend Killer.
#20
I do love talking on the phone, but I'd rather send a text. Much easier and I know I will get a reply eventually.

I don't even own a phone that can text, I have a cell phone somewhere in my car, I might use it once every few months

I wish I wasn't so dependent on mine, but it has become invaluable to me. I've got my face book posts and work email connected, so that those messages are automatically forwarded. Sounds impressive, doesn't it???? Truth is, I have no idea how I did it, and it was a total accident that I did!
#26
I don't have a facebook page either
#27
Sure you don't live in Harlan Co?

Texting > Calling.

I actually hate talking on the phone, I'd rather just text someone.
