Per Jody Demling of the Courier Journal. Shane is a 4* prospect in the 2014 class

Congrats to Shane!!! Great kid and great family. Very deserving. Offers like these are great for mountain bball. Make us proud.

Saw this on Twitter earlier from Derek Forrest. Congrats Shane.

It is so great to see our mountain kids with the talent to play at major programs, and to get the opportunity to do something most kids only get to dream of.

I am so proud of Shane words cant explain it!!!

Congrats to Shane. Here's to hoping Cal comes around with a scholarship offer at some point. I'm a homer, what can I say.

Awesome for Shane! Just hate seeing our good instate players have to go out of state to play! Wish nothing but the best for him no matter where he decides to go!!!!

âRelax, all right? Donât try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, theyâre fascist. Throw some ground balls â itâs more democratic.â

UK needs to recruit him...heck with all the other players CAL recruits and they are overrated...I would much rather see a East KY kid come to LEX and play blue collar basketball instead of pampered one and dones.
12-03-2012, 01:32 PM
He has to be better than Hood, just saying. I dont understand why cal isnt giving him a chance.
12-03-2012, 02:37 PM
Like I said its great for the kid. Good to hear that he is a good kid and has family support......just wonderin,,,is he a UK fan?

Let me first start off with saying that this is a big accomplishment and congrats to Shane.
But...
even though Jon Hood isn't performing well at Kentucky - he was an elite HS bball player. I don't think a lot of us understand how hard it is to play at UK.

What is Polson doing currently?? Get Real, Cal is recruiting the kind of players we need for a championship team. I wish Hall the best and he is a great mountain player, but not a UK type player.

Really! You think they are "Overrated!" You should have your posting card revoked. Pure ignorance! Shane Hall is a great player and he is still developing. He could be a 5 star recruit when all is said and done. He really has that much upside. He will play big time D 1. I, as much as anyone hope he plays at UK. However, if he doesn't I willl cheer for that kid regardless. Oh, and so what if he does develop more and become a "pampered one and done." I assume you will not cheer for him, correct?:thanks:

Just curious then how you would compare Derrik Willis and Shane Hall. What makes Willis a "UK type player" and Hall not?

Saw this yesterday evening on Twitter. Congrats to Shane, going to be quite a few more to follow.

What great news and I hope this kid goes to UT and first game drops a triple double on Ky. Now that would be the best nonverbal revenge ever.

Willis will be nothing more than the token white boy from UK. Hall would be in a similar role at UK. Nothing against either of those guys but you have to be on a different level athletically and physically to play a big role at UK under Cal.
Congrats to Hall on the offer.

You're saying Hall isn't on a different level of athleticism than a lot of others? Hall is one of the most athletic players I've ever seen, especially for only a junior in high school. Hall is also very physical, he has improved A LOT since last season.
I think Hall could fit in well at UK.
Congratulations Shane on the offer from Tennessee! That's a great offer!

I will stay away from the "token white boy" comment and say that it takes more than five boys to make a team. I think his game is very similar to what I saw from Darius Miller when he was at Mason County and I feel like he had a wonderful career at UK.
12-03-2012, 10:01 PM
I have heard so much bout this kid but I have never got the opportunity to watch him play. Now that I am laid off I might get to the chance to get out and watch him play this upcoming season.congrats Mr. Hall

Congrats to Hall on the offer.
Are you kidding? You would say that Wiltjer, Polson and Vargas from last year are on a different level physically and athletically? Than who? For one Wiltjer isn't anymore athletic than an 8th grade offensive lineman. Something else I would like to point out is that Elisha Justice as a Junior in high school was better than Polson will be at the end of his senior year. Just because you grow up in poor Ol' eastern Kentucky playing against the least amount of talent in the state, it doesn't mean you cant be a good D-1 player at the mighty University of Kentucky. This is great for the kid. He is rated as a 4* player by espn. I would venture to say that they may be better scouts than us and He has 4 more stars beside his name than all of the posters on here combined. Congrats young man.

Awesome news...ALot of good players in East Ky right now.
12-04-2012, 10:55 AM
I get so tired of the posters on here who start downing and comparing these young men. Shane Hall is a unique talent who has the size, speed and jumping ability to play at the next level. In a team situation another player may put up the night of his life against Shane, but there is only one in this area that will be playing upper level D-1 ball and that is Shane Hall.
Congtats Shane and good luck on your jouney. Regardless of where you go, I for one will root for you and enjoy you playing at the next level.

Congrats to Hall. An excellent high school player who definitely has D1 talent. I would hate to see him go to UT (Nothing sucks like a big Orange) but hope he is successful anywhere he goes.

All the praise is well deserved for Mr. Hall. In my opinion, only thing limiting Mr. Hall ability is his lack of an outside shot. Maybe they can correct that at next level, if so sky the limit. However, until he develops an outside shot his jumping ability only take him so far. I believe this is what different with him and Willis, not saying Willis is UK material.
