Its hard to believe that Lville and there infamous player remarks are the worlds best, would beat the dream team, and would crush UK, when they lost to Duke....

Missing Dieng tonight really hurt UL. This is the one time I am a UL fan. Duke always seems to get lucky with injuries, etc. Didn't have to play UK during Calipari's first three years. Then they play Louisville when they're missing Dieng, who would have made a big difference on the interior.

This makes the 2nd Kentucky team Duke has beaten this year EARLY in the season.

Well I'm lost for words..
I really expected UL to come out and put a whoopin' on the Blue Devils but I was wrong..
Duke is gonna be tough this year, hate to say it but truth is the truth.

Coach K, greatest coach in the history in the game with cleanest reputation to ever lead the world in basketball, whether in college of Team USA, had taken a far inferior team and stuck it to the state of Kentucky. Hats off to the King, just hope we can somehow figure out how to find a chink in this team in March without getting outcoached....

Just Observing, but its hard to beat the best coach in the World. This guy takes a team every year and performs with players that should not compete at this level. All I have heard about is how Plumlee is so bad, yet this young man has been the best player on the floor in both of his games against the KY teams. Just shows you what an X's and O's coach can do with less talent.

I really don't think UK has a chance if they where to meet in the tourney..
UL and Indy maybe, but at this point I just don't know any other team that has it together enough to go against them come tourney time.
Could be a Blue Devil championship this year..

Cleanest reputation is laughable.

It is laughable in this day and age, but he is pearly clean and deserving of his status with Rupp and Wooden as the GREATEST!

I dont know about the cleanest, in fact, i know hes not clean.
However, he does have amazing coaching abilities.
He has no talent on most of his teams and makes his teams win. For example, look how many Duke players have "starred" in the NBA. Hardly any, but they were very special while at Duke.
Either way i hate them.

Look at coach k recruiting classes in the 90s. Very comparable to how cal does it.

It's laughable because he's not clean. Just because the sheriffs son never goes to jail for drugs, doesn't make him clean. Just means he gets away with it. Even when he's caught.

I never said Cal wasnt good.
I, unlike some others on here, believe Cal is a great X's and O's coach.

Hmm? Lol u said he always wins without talent. I was just saying he used to be a cal type of recruiter.

He is clean. He he NEVER been found guilty of any wrongdoings. Hmmm, now its starting to sound like. .......
He's so great that team USA has wanted noone else. He's won with great talent and with the most deficient athletes to ever lace up a shoe (Plumlee) Its just jealousy that he does not get his just due. I sure would have taken him as UK's coach a few years ago.

Something that I always think has helped Coach K is that Duke has such strict academic standards. He may not get a starting 5 full of first rounders - but he has kids that follow directions, won't make the mental mistakes and will most likely stay to get their degree.

You bring up an extremely great point. He must coach intelligent athletes that come for 1) School then 2) Basketball. That makes his resume even deeper. Taking players that are truly dedicated to a GPA number versus a Draft number takes a whole different type of coach. Not many of his players move on to be great NBA players, which is point and fact that his is not recruiting talent alone! His ability to take a group of academics and then turn them into Top 5 NCAA talent is as great a testament to his coaching ability than the wins on his record.

Weak, WEAK effort by the Cards. EVen without Dieng, this is SUPPOSED to
be a veteran, #2 squad in the hunt for national title. Anyone who watched
UK/Duke can see Duke doesn't have top 10 material, and wants no part of
UK again in a few weeks when the young'uns figure it our. This doesn't
bode well for the Cards. And that YUM center whipping they're expecting
to dish out to the Cats in a month, may not be in the offing.

True not many of his players have gone on to great NBA success, but
QUITE A FEW of them have come to Duke with big NBA aspirations.
and most of his high profile recruits are just like everbody elses',
basketball first, basketball second, basketball third. School when
they get around to it.

K's a heck of a coach. One of the very best. And Duke is a rigorous
academic school. But that rigor can be bent all out of shape for
its basketball team. Specially designed, personal bunny majors
for one thing. Duke's academic rep for much of it's basketball
team is more Rep than reality. A leftover from an earlier day.

Any top contender for March should have already seen the
chink in this dookie team, it's this dookie team. If this squad makes
the FF come March, there should be some SERIOUSLY embarassed
faces all across college basketball.

Great game, hats off to Duke. I still believe that with Dieng in the game UL would have won. But thats part of the game. With Dieng having aurgery tomorrow morning and missing 4-6 weeks to recover I'd say that UL will lose another game or 2 in that time period.
