Well the cake walk is about to stop....all this talk about how athletic Hopkins is...well I'd bet ya a hot chocolate Trenity Carr is just as if not more Athletic....oh..then there is Warren, Robinson, Hatfield, Taylor,Messer..etc..... and our line is a far cry better than Bourbon...you want respect beat us like you did everybody else and i will come on here and eat the hell outta some crow........that being said come to the tailgate Friday and i will serve you up some Bourbon chicken.....:1:

As for Belfry's respect, I'll be the first to tell you that Bourbon deserves no respect from Belfry's football players, but at the same time Belfry doesn't deserve respect from Bourbon up to this point. Respect is earned on the field, and no matter the outcome I guarantee both teams come out of this game respecting one another.

As for you, I could care less if you respect this Bourbon County team or not. As a fan I respect every team I watch, because I know what it takes to play between those lines.

I agree with the entire post except the bold part. Go through the last 5 pages of this thread and see how many people picked Bourbon. Bourbon is supposed to lose and according to most people (sans you) lose big. You can't underestimate such an overwhelming favorite. I am simply letting those fans, who are not as informed as you, know that Bourbon isn't a slouch and if Henry Clay and Ashland beat Belfry because of their athleticism, then this could be a recipe for disaster. You can watch all the game film of the first Garrard game that you want, but if you watch Bourbon's last 3 games, you will understand that this team is on a mission, and I don't think the bright lights and loud crowd of CAM stadium is going to effect the performance given. Should be a doozy!

When Belfry played Henry Clay I dont thing we where playing as a team. If we played them now different story. As for Ashland they where tuff but pentalies killed us and you cant bet the ref's down there.

Trenity is a beast, but doesn't has the straight line speed, nor the shake and bake that Hopkins has. Trenity is VERY strong and athletic.

Not that it will have any bearing on this game, but since Carr was brought up, I expect him to have another amazing offseason and come into his Senior year as an even more explosive player. He put on the size and strength this offseason. This winter/spring will be picking up a couple steps IMO.

That being said, the beauty of this game is that it is a team sport to the utmost degree. Hopkins can't and will not beat Belfry by himself, he may get stuffed, but it wont be because one player is better than him, it will be a team effort.

To my knowledge, this will be the second time in the semis, the only other time they won 2a state in 1997.

They have been to the semifinals one time, they won and went on to win the state championship. It is one of the great Cinderella stories in KY football history. 1997 if I remember correctly, and they were a 3 seed, and coached by Dudley Hilton.

The Hopkins kid will be the best athlete Belfry has faced all year. With that being said Belfry's D-Line will be the best Bourbon has faced all year. I don't see Hopkins having very much success running between the tackles against this defense. Belfry also has very good Linebackers who play very disciplined and physical. I don't know a whole lot about Bourbon but if Belfry plays the way they are capable of, I don't see Bourbon playing within three scores. Good Luck Pirates!!!!
