What's wrong with supporting your conference? Your team doesn't have a conference. You can't hold that against us.

That seem's only happen in the SEC though, but even there, Alabama only roots for Bama, Florida only roots for Florida, Auburn will never support Bama. The majority of those fans could care less if any other team is in the national title game.

Go to the HS Football forum - there is a thread dedicated to people rooting for teams here in the mountains. There's no difference.

I don't see how anyone could watch Nick Saban or Steve Spurrier coach every week and not respect what they do and root for them when they are playing someone from outside of the conference.

Bandwagon is a word that gets thrown around a lot on here...
Everytime it gets thrown in my direction I think it is a little more stupid than it was the last time.

I root for who I want to root for - I'm not a humongous Auburn fan - but when Cam Newton was going nuts and making defenses look silly every week I made sure when they played that my TV was dialed in. If that violates some fraternal code of football fans that I'm unaware of - who cares?

I'll be a fan of who I like to watch play - but I find a hard time rooting for anyone who isn't in the SEC. I honestly just don't have an interest in watching Notre Dame play Stanford when I can see Bama play LSU.

No. That was not my argument.

And by the way, UK fans don't support the SEC teams as much as they understand what conference has the elite teams in it. Of course, Kentucky isn't one of those elite teams, but they know elite talent pretty darn well when they match up against it 2-4 times per year.

I've heard people say, well Notre Dame has the number one toughest schedule in the country. No, they don't. That was at the beginning of the season when meaningless pre-season polls that reflect a majority that is tired of the SEC success are all we have to go by. We now see what kind of schedule they truly had.

The SEC has Alabama and they are a great team maybe the best team and they also have Georgia, LSU, and Florida which are good teams.... With the current system in place: there is no reason for any SEC team to go out of their way and schedule a tough non-conference schedule.

Why take a chance of maybe having to fly across the country and play a ranked team who could get hot and beat you when you schedule is already has 3 or 4 marquee games on it? In the SEC we have to win a conference title game to make it to the championship anyway. After you guys play a USC team that has already lost every big game they had on the schedule you can sit pretty.

All of those but Tennessee.. can't bring myself to cheer for them. Yeah, I actually support the whole SEC if they are playing non-SEC teams. That is coming from someone who likes the irish.. one of my favorite teams outside of the SEC, but if they played an SEC team, I would have to pull for SEC.

Tennessee I just have a hate for though. I love to see anyone kill them.
