Thoughts and predictions
#2
if pikeville can control up front on the line of scrimage like they did vs racland they will win this game. pikvilles D has to b patient and not allow any big plays. imo pikeville wins 28 to 18
#3
I'm not going to make a prediction but Pikeville has so many great athletes and a bunch more coming up! Fairview is a huge favorite here but so was Raceland.
#4
Pikeville faces a running team with good athletes but Pikeville has already faced a team like belfry who runs about the same style of offense but can the Panthers stop Fairview for 4 quarters.
#5
I picked the upset against Raceland and I am here to tell you that the Panthers will do it again. Pikeville Wins
#6
If Pikeville can contain Fairview and keep this game somewhat low scoring, then they can win this game, but that's a big IF!!
#7
Fairview is too big, too strong, too fast... should be a good game though, Fairview lost a tough game to these guys last year being up three scores in the first half, i dont see that happening this year!!!! doesnt make much sense that a 12-0 team should have to travel in the playoffs:pondering:

Pikeville did a good job with Raceland but it was still a very close game. Did you see the Fairview-Raceland game? You took it up a notch to beat Raceland but you will need to take it up another notch to beat this Fairview team. I'm not a fairview fan and I would love to see Pikeville win because they are a mountain team but I like Fairview in this game.

Fairview lost one of the back in that game too didnt they? Fairview needs to hope for every back to stay healthy in this game and if this is a blow out to rest there starters.

Fairview lost their Halfback, an outside backer, safety and wide receiver all in the first half

It doesn't matter. Mayfield fans have said that Hazard is the only team in the East with a chance and the west representative will blow out whoever comes from the east.

Yeah, they said the same thing last year and still have egg all over their face.

Because Pikeville put them out.

I definitely did not see myself saying this a week ago but, I think Pikeville will actually win this one!! I know it's going to be a back and forth game but, I think the Panthers can pull it off at home!

Pikeville - 24

Fairview - 21

If the game was at Fairview, I'd say Eagles all the way. The turf should play into fairviews advantage, but I have a feeling the cloud looms atleast one more year over the northern part of region 4. Pikeville has improved greatly and plays with alot of swagger. If Fairview wants to win, they better get up 20 and then play good conservative defense. Blits the panthers and they will burn you with that freakin screen. Hope im wrog but...

Pikeville 32
Fairview 28
But what the hell do i know. I was 100% Racleand would pull away in the 3rd quarter...so much like i am, take this prediction with a grain of salt lol.

Simmer down. I think he was talking about the Raceland/Faiview game earlier this year. King Rolled an ankle early in the game and a couple of other minor injuries followed that knocked some kids out of the game. Beach also missed the second half of that game for Raceland.

I would love to b wrong, but i dont see the young panthers holding them down for 4 quarters.

Well I was wrong last week with my prediction in the Pikeville game. I thought it would be much closer but had no clue they'd pull out the win. I think Fairview may be a little too much for the young Panthers, but wouldn't mind being wrong again. Make Pike Co proud guys. Good Luck!!!! Would love to see Belfry and Pikeville both still playing again next week and the week after. That may very well happen in the very near future but the Panthers may be a year or two away from that.

Fairview's 12' opponent W/L record is 37-84. *They have 7 wins against teams with 3 or fewer wins.*
stat for the day

And what would be the won loss record of the teams that Pikeville has beaten? Not much better if at all I would bet. I think this past week is their first victory over a team with better than a .500 record or anywhere close to it.

Fairview 27 Pikeville 18. Fairview is on their way to Hazard, their dancing in Fairview because Lexington,Christain went up to 2A.
#27
pikevilles opp. W/L is 63-72

Besides Raceland Pikeville has beaten Paintsville(2-9), Shelby Valley (3-8), Allen Central (2-9), Phelps (0-10), South Floyd (5-6) and Powell County (2-9). Pikevilles only won against a team above .500 was the Raceland win. Fairview has beaten three teams with winning records. (Raceland, Nicholas County and Fleming County) Maybe 4 depending on what Grove City Christian finished.

Both of these teams have run up some wins against some bad teams, that's not really either of their faults. Both districts were really weak on the bottom.

I have been kind of pulling for Pikeville since before the playoffs got started. I like the underdog, unless of course we are playing the underdog (ha ha). I just know they do something different at playoff time. I remember that game last year against Hazard. I believe everyone was counting them out then as well, just sayin. By the way, we did not say that no one from the east could beat us. We will be taking one game at a time. I have said many times that Hazard is still #1 until someone knocks them off. That is just the simple fact of the matter. There are three teams still left on that side that could prove they are not. There are still 4 teams alive on the west side that could prove they are not. Let's see what happens.

It's not just teams you've beaten, it's teams you've played. Pikeville played a MUCH harder schedule than Fairview. It will work in their favor this year just like it did last year.
