Hey, Granny Bear. I hope you guys didn't get any damage from the earthquake!

It was the most incredible thing I've ever seen!!
The shaking was there but what was so unbelieveable was the noise!! Pappy thought I was washing clothes and that the washer had gotten off balance during the spin cycle..

Yes sir, I will be there. Originally I was planning on going down there early with the crew to help them setup for the broadcast but, I have since been told that they will not be broadcasting this game so I guess I still have to figure out when I want to get down there for tailgating.

I'm not sure where you got your information but in Pulaski County the vote count was: Romney 20,584 and Obama 4934.

:please: I guess you haven't seen the black bears play have you?? They have one of the best if not the best defenses in the mountains. When they stay focused they are very hard to score on they may bend but they don't break. IMO HC wins the region by 2 scores. Good luck bears!!! Make our area proud cause your the best team from this part of the state left on the only one left I have any respect for. Now go on and bring home the crown of king of the mountains. Cause those fools on log mountain want make past next week.

You are correct.
In fact, only four counties in KY went Obama.

Franklin, Fayette, Jefferson, and Estill I believe.

One comment on the election results as I do know it is off topic, but those counties ought to not get one more freakin' red cent of coal severence money....idiots!

^^
Or electricity provided by coal!!

Wow, having to stoop to something like calling us Obama supporters to get fired up? LOL, I thought this would be a good clean rivalry but when call people names like that, its just plain gonna get ugly! We are a republican county and always have been. Cooper Power Plant here in lovely Pulaski is coal burning as we are proud of that. I have been called a lot of really bad names, but please, please do not call me an Obama supporter. That cuts way deep.

BB Claw does not speak for the majority of Black Bear Nation...We know that Pulaski County is a republican county and even if you weren't this should turn into a political thread.

I'm sure that was an honest mistake....and now everybody knows that Pulaski did not support you know who.

Granny Bear Wrote:There are two factors that's going to determine this game. First, our passing defense. I was impressed last night with Chitwood, he has really improved since he came back to play!! I wonder how good he would've been had he not been out most of the season with his shoulder injury. Also, Whitehead will be 100% next week and he is vital in our defense!! Two of the kids were sick tonight, I know Caldwell was playing with a fever and another kid was throwing up at half time!! The second factor is consistent officiating. Since we won last night, I hope I can say this without getting slammed..but that officiating crew was below average.....and I'm being kind. Two intentional grounds ignored, several off sides that weren't called and ball placement was a joke, in my opinion. One of the officials called Harris out at the 1 yard line on that lonnnng run he had, then Mr. White Hat comes over and calls it a TD!! MS coach ran on to the field to express his displeasure with a call, the official threw his flag and after the MS coach had his say, the flag was waved off. The official announced a side line warning; well that was the third side line warning for the night. It was just bad.
I know that HC deserved most of the penalties last night, but the game was just called inconsistently.

PC throws the ball well from what I saw against Whitley last night. Their QB looks strong and confident. Our QB did some impressive passing last night, too. And you can add his scrambling ability to the mix..wow!! I can't wait to see how many yards he had rushing last night.

All that being said, I think the game will be decided by one touchdown.

HC 36
PC 28

Pulaski fans need to watch for deer and elk on the road from Pineville, and I'm NOT kidding. Pay particuliar attention after crossing the Harlan Co line...Travel safely.

Go Black Bears!!!!!!

Agree on the deer and elk or you may be doing this: :HitWall:

I think this will come down to the wire with the Black Bears winning in the last seconds.

Pulaski is one of the most Republican counties in the state. I'm glad that Harlan saw the light in this election. Light from a coal fired electric plant. The election is over. It is football time. Pulaski is better than some from Harlan's district thought they were. But Harlan is two touchdowns better than anybody in this region. Madison Southern gave them some trouble because Harris is a great equalizer. Pulaski has a bunch of good players but no Harris'. They've straightened 25 but it is still a long bus ride to Harlan County. It will be long both directions this year. Pulaski may flip this next year with their young kids. The bus ride will be the other direction next year.

This is getting ugly now.....I don't think i've ever seen sports go to this low of a level before...lol.

As was the case with previous Maroon teams, this Pulaski team will not be intimidated going into Harlan Co. This is a resiliant bunch of kids and if Harlan jumps out to an early lead they better not celebrate too soon because Pulaski will keep coming at you as evident in come from behind wins against North Laurel, Madison Southern and Whitley. They have a workmanlike approach and dont seem to get rattled when things go wrong. Win or lose Pulaski will show up and play every second of the game. The edge of your seats will be very warm in this one!!

Two touchdowns better??? Man are you going to be disappointed!!!

I really don't think that it is that bad of a drive and it's nothing compared to Highlands having to come down there 2 years ago!

The game will be close for the most part of the game unless Pulaski does not protect the young QB and then this game will be over at the half. Dont think Pulaski can stop HC but we will see come Friday night. I read on here a post that they compared our offense to Whitley's well I dont see that. The game against Whitley was over after the first quarter when it was 19-0. This years team has 11 seniors on it but next years team will have 25 or so.

Go Black Bears! I can't wait! I know it will be a great game! I hope both teams come out injury free to represent the 7th an 8th admirably! We need to put an end to the western domination! Recently! Arter highlands left for 4A. I hope we (HC) have as many fans there as the Bell game. Personally I've never see on so many fans since the Evarts, Bellview game in 1990. I'm so excited! I can't wait for the maroons to come to town. Good luck to both teams. I think it will be a great game, and great atmosphere. We have got to pressure the QB!!! He may be young, but he is very talented!

We are Harlan County Black Bears. There's no "Central" in any part of our name.
Also, this isn't a political thread, but I'm sure everyone can understand that we are somewhat passionate about coal mining. After all, you will be playing in the Coal Miners Memorial Stadium!! AND, just wait until the Coal Miner Memorial Walk is finished; it will be awesome!!

I respect the football programs in Pulaski County area, the Maroons, the Warriors, the Jumpers, etc. That being said, Friday night will be a football throw down!!! Neither team is going to back down; as well they shouldn't.

We need to have a HUGE crowd Friday to cheer on the Black Bears!!!

Go Black Bears!!!!!!
