#6
Congrats Ashland!
#7
Congratulations Ashland! Good win!

Now, the bad news. The prize for the winning Tomcats....

A trip to Fort Thomas to play Highlands.
#8
I don't see Ashland backing down from the Mighty Bluebirds........
#9
Congratulations, Ashland!

Pulp Fiction, I would not expect them to backdown in any game, but it is not going to be easy to beat the Bluebirds, but it can be done. It will take a near perfect game, but the Bluebirds are vulnerable.
#11
Win or Lose, running clock or not blowout or not ASHLAND will not back down, and FTH will have a fight on their hands.
#12
Curious how Holmes put 28 on highlands, was it late in the game? Not talking smack just inquiring.
#13
Yeah no fear in this group they already said they want to surprise everyone and have 1 more game at Putnam. Tall task next week. This needs to be the most intense week of practice in tomcat history

With a running clock and a blowout I don't see how it would be much of a fight
#15
:thatsfunn But in all seriousness I think Ashland can give Highlands a good game and I would love to see em win.
#16
Great win Tomcats.

Games like this can get away from you VERY QUICKLY... Some games that on the scoreboard look like blow-outs are really not and vice-versa
#18
Dont know but they got only 7 on our starters. The other was garbage time!!!

it was 50-14 at the half One of the scores was a nice kick return by Scruggs.
Later in the 4th Scruggs had a nice run up the side line for 91 yards. The last one was a short pass. Second team started in the 3rd.

Good job Ashland. Ashland has to be better than I gave them credit for. I really thought Holmes would hang close or win the game. Nice W for tomcat fans.
#21
I thought Holmes looked very weak for a Northern KY team. Didn't have much fight in them at all, both on the field and sideline.

Hope Ashland is able to at least give a game to Highlands(or beat them), and represent Eastern KY football well. All you hear about is Northern KY, which is fair and deserving.

Great job Tomcats!

Noone was walking into Putnam and winning tonight. Not highlands or anybody for that matter. Now next week is a completely different situation. But this was just the best effort I have seen out of this group in a long time. And if they play like this again next week they will gov themselves a chance at a miracle.

I'm starting to think he might have been a kid on the team. It seems as JC had some inspiration from his comments and his sudden disappearance looks like someone told him to shut it down.

Just saw where Ashland held Scruggs to 26 yards in the first half. Idk what he finished with. I think that shows this tomcat defense is legit.
#28
The Putty tat defense is pretty good against the run. Where they are vulnerable is against a team that can spread them out and pass the ball. That does not bode well for this week against the tweety birds.

If they are vulnerable it's only cause they haven't playe anyone who does that. Holmes tried a little and made some great catches but Ashland was in position to make plays. Highlands will try to spread Ashland and sling it though. That much I am sure of.

Actually Raceland spread them out and had a lot of success. Ams just have trouble hanging onto the ball.
