I also doubt Chris has Coach Larkey's players either. Unfair to even compare, I have seen North once this year and they are not like teams in the past North has had. Some places are hard to win at so I'm sure North fans are happy with winning this year.

North Laurel is a very good football team!!!! They have played Russell Co. closer than anyone. Had Pulaski down 21-0 before losing 28-21. Blair is a very hard runner. Nelson is capable of scoring at anytime. Lewis is a very good receiver. The O-line is big and aggressive and defensively they swarm the ball and are physical. Anyone who thinks Whitley wins easily probably doesn't know much bout North Laurel.

I think this will be a very interesting game.

North has improved greatly this season and they have done the things that they needed to be competitive. They scheduled weak early and got some confidence. Played some close games and were not that far away from having a home playoff game.

Whitley is hurting. No doubt about that. The word on the street is that there is no way Esidro is going to play. That is tough because he plays both ways, the Bryant kid played both ways, and there are a couple of other kids who are not at 100%. It is going to be a tough game.

I think that having the Freshman QB in for a week will make a difference for the Colonels. He looked like he got more confidence as the game went on against Boyle County, and they have another full week to get him ready. As far as Bryant goes, he is a great FB, but if you have watched he is the best defender Whitley has and holds several school records on defense.

Whitley has played a tough schedule and played tough teams pretty well at times and has disappeared at times.

Neither team has much playoff experience but Jim Black has a lot and will have his team ready.

North 20

P.S.

Oh yeah, and for those who are going to bring up the lack of passing game at Whitley.....only three things can happen when you throw the ball and two of them are bad. On the other hand, 617 yards in one game rushing the football kind of equals out that throwing thing.Confusednicker:Confusednicker:

Coach Tom Larkey's first four years coaching = 21 wins; Laurel County
Coach Chris Larkey's first four years coaching = 17 wins thus far; North Laurel

Just saying...

North Laurel has had 4 winning seasons in their history and the past 4 years they've managed 1 winning season and .500 season. Not too bad for a bottom dweller that everyone always wanted to schedule year in and year out. North Laurel has never even won a playoff game, EVER. It's called building a program one year at a time.

Good luck to both teams, hopefully the injury bug stays away from both teams.

laker20 Wrote:NL just hasn't been consistent, in the game against PC they were up big at half time, and came out and did nothing. If 1)they can put together a full 4 Qtrs of football, and if 2)they have Nelson at 100%, they can hang with WC. Those are two big ifs, and anything less will result in a 20+ point WC win.

No one I guess realized that North Laurel was without their starting MLB and TB for the Pulaski County game, that made a huge difference. Regardless, North should've held onto lead but knowing the whole story would make it easier to know how North had more trouble in second half. Blair is their leader and without him on the field, it was hard to sustain such consistency against a pretty good Pulaski County team.
Congrats to Whitley County for beating them in a scrimmage.:worthy:

Fooseball devil, Briar Creek Brave, for a Whitley fan, or watcher, i would expect you to atleast be able to spell our QB's name right...

And he is injured, however, surgery will wait till after the season.
He will play at some point, i dont know that we will need him against North.

Why are you crying?
I can put down any team i want.
If you think im bad, got to a Highlands thread...

HOLD ON, before i answer, how many district titles and region titles has North Laurel won? Just 4 years ago we were in the state semis, after winning region. You should remember that, we killed North along the way....

I know the answer to how many titles N. Laurel has, but i want to see you answer it. I'll give you a hint. Whitley has more than North and South combined....

Gut how do you expect us to know how to spell it, when his name is pronounced different at every stadium we go to. I've heard Zitro, Zero, Ziddero, and numerous others. I was told that the correct pronunciation of his name is ESIDRO. What ever they call Austin I'm glad he is a Colonel, and hope he is on the field Friday night.:problem:

RIUTG let me try spelling his name correctly, Ysidro. I am hearing rumors that he, Ysidro, is not capable of playing Friday. I know Bryant cannot go, but, was wondering about Ysidro. North will be without Nelson that I do know. I do not think with your running offense you will drop off much. I think on the defensive side of the ball is where you will miss Bryant and Ysidro "if he cannot go." I really look for this to be a battle either way.

By the way, I do not think you have to remind NL's supporters how bad we have been in the past. The past is the past and we are looking to the future. This year's team has been exciting for us to cheer for. I expect to have a lot to cheer for Friday. Both teams are now 0 - 0. North Laurel is "ON THE RISE." GO JAGS.

WC will win this game by a lot, whether Nelson plays or not.

dont know or care how many titles any team listed has, but accordign to 3wishes, North has never won a playoff game so I am going to assume no region titles,
I only keep up with this because Pulaski plays the winner of this game.

Blair played in the game against Pulaski 20 carries for 106 yards.

Confusednicker:

Correct! North hasnt won one single title. Not even a playoff game! So dont ask me about our district and region titles when ours outnumbers your entire county.
I think South only has one, back when Neil Warren was at South, 99 maybe? Even then, that's only one.

I LOVE beating Laurel County.:redboxer:

Let me say this. If Nelson is out, we definitley will not play Ysidro. However, he will dress. Because, we wont need him, and im not sure we would any ways. Expect another beat down from the county to the south.....

North doesn't have anyone on the injured list so Whitley better be ready to play injured, half-dead, or alive!! It will be a rough game.

My mistake. He didn't play any defense that game though and North couldve used a sure tackler in the second half.

Stats has a lot to do with who you are playing. Now if Whitley rushes for 617 yards they beat North but if they rush for 32 they lose.
Now another example would be if Corbin scores 64 like against McCreary they bet LaRue but if they score 0 like against Bell they lose.
North is a very good team. Turnovers always play a big part if games. Without turnovers Whitley must ball control and stop the big play from North.
North must not let Whitley control the ball and they need to have some big plays if Whitley puts 8-9 in the box to stop run.
With North throwing 6.7 passes a game and Whitley 5 this game may be over by 915
