It's so confusing.
I think you got on the Russell bandwagon because they beat up on Whitley.
:Shaking:
Im so glad you took the bait.
It's always fun with you.
In other words, by picking both teams, im always right.
I would have thought you woulda figured that one out by now...
And as for the Russell bandwagon, hell yea i am. I know Whitley is a very average team at best, but RC is still the best team ive seen play this year by far. They can hurt you in many ways. KC will be run to death by the end of the third.
I was on the Russell bandwagon last year when i told you they'd beat KC, and they did...

Lets see how well Knox's Offense does when there starting on there own 20 every single time.

Best by far?
I don't think so.
We'll see how it goes Friday. Maybe you'll be right this time.

That want bother Knox at all the real question is how will Russell's defense fair trying to stop knox's grid it out game? Russell has only had one game where they had to give it there all for 4 quarters an that was against a sub par north laurel team. Knox will wear Russell down in the 3rd quarter. They haven't met at team that has Knox strength an speed.

How much is it going to hurt Russell not having their center for this game an the next one after getting ejected in the clay game last week?

Im so glad i could bring the Knox and Harlan folk together.

Well you know us mountain teams have to stick together no matter how much we may dislike one another, but can't say the same about you... You always have to remember where you come from, an what it means to be from the mountains of Kentucky

Not as much as it did against Pulaski (a good RC win that no one mentions). The kid playing center this week will likely be the center next year, play center in college, and has been a starter since he was a freshman, so he's getting an early start.
Something a lot of people don't realize is the offensive line for Russell Co. goes about 9 deep.

I am a Johson Central fan and know nothing about Russel County. I do know about Knox. They are a very balanced team. They have been our only defeat this year and we have played ranked teams from both Ohio and WV in addition to our district games. We have faced several D-1 recruits, one in fact who is being recruited by Ohio State, and Canady is heads above all of them. The rest of their players will hurt you so you have to do more than focus on Canady.
Again I cannot comment on Russel, but they will have to be super good to defeat Knox. I will be partial and go with a Mountian Team and pick Knox to win. I think they will grind it out and wear Russel down.

Already said that you guys are all correct. Russell County is playing an away game vs. a team that has played a tougher schedule both home and away with a revenge factor. Plus Russell has lost a starter. Doubt if Russell even shows up Friday night. Knox should be able to go ahead and mark this one down in the win column and start preparing for Madison Central.irateSho:flame:

Heard it all year long that Russell Co. might contend in the state 4A. Well after having a cupcake schedule, this will determine if they are legit or not. Russell Co. has some special players, along with Knox Central, but in the end the GROUND and POUND attack of Knox Central will prevaile.

Against Rockcastle KC is the best looking team I have seen this year. It was 7-7 at the end of the first qtr and I think it was 42-7 at the half. They are really explosive, and could have put up 80 against Rock if they had desired. If RC keys on Canady, the others will surprise them with their skills. I think Russell Co is very fast and they are better than last year, but at home KC will be hard to beat. Wait until your team has all the KC faithful all around them and you will understand. Also, KC lost the district because of Russell Co last year, and that just adds to the fire. Britt is the fastest player in this game, but if he can't break free he can't score. Rock held him to 32 yards last year. He got that and more on one play several times this year. My point is if he can't get loose he can't run. KC WINS district but both teams will make some noise in the region this year. Can't wait.

I like your statement, except for one little bit of info you are incorrect about. Britt is not the fastest player in this game. KC's QB Evans beat him in 100 m.dash in the regionals in track.

I would not brag too much about beating Pulaski Co, an average team at best(a team that got beat by SK 50-7, and SK got beat by a bad Dixie team). If you are expecting your team to compete against the likes of Boyle,Lex Cath, Highlands,Cov Cath, you better not be bragging about barely beating Pulaski!

If I was a KC coach or knew one of the coaches, I would just tell them to put Evans in the safety position then, and just let him run Britt down if he gets loose. He shouldn't be a factor in this game then, but I don't see that happening. If Britt gets to the outside, you can wave BYE-BYE and get your team ready for kick-off return. If you don't believe me, wait until after the game and we will talk. KC will win this game in the trenches on both sides of the ball, if they do win.
Maybe I should have said he is the fastest with pads on?
10-17-2012, 12:04 PM
You see that's just it britt has to be able to get out side an not real sure that he can do that against knox's defense,

Been waiting all year for this game! Now it is just a couple days away! From reading everyone's post and predictions I understand that we are going into a "hostile" environment as an underdog in the eyes of most. I would hope that the only hostile things that take place are the hits between two very good and physical teams. I hope Knox has the biggest crowd in their schools history there cheering on their very good team. I expect Laker Nation to travel well to a game that is the biggest regular season game in school history. It ought be a lot of fun. Lets hope that both teams can walk off the field and all fans can walk out of the stadium saying that they saw two of the best teams in the state give their all in a fairly called game both teams understanding just how good the other team is...all the while pledging to do everything they can to meet again in four weeks for a regional title. I can't pick against my Lakers...RC 24 - KC 21 Williams wins it with a late field goal.

Amen. Excellent post. And although I'm a Panther fan, I am worried about the RC kicking game. To come this far and lose by a field goal or even an extra point would be heartbreaking.

It is possible but more likely to be blocked then missing it.. i was just stating my prediction... Right
I wish knox the best! Bring back your first district title...:please:

I heard people say that last year about Knox's first district title.
I'm pretty sure they won a district title in 1975 and lost to Highlands in the 3A playoffs.

I was a freshman on that team and for some reason I won't to think we played Dixie Heights, I may be wrong .Maybe to many hit to the head,LOL. When they where talking about never winning a district championship i thought maybe we were runnerup .
10-17-2012, 10:54 PM
Only one team per district made the playoffs then.
Highlands beat Knox Central in Region 3
Cawood beat Belfry in Region 4
Highlands beat Cawood in the state semifinals. I think they won the state championship.
