Somerset @ Middlesboro 10/18
#1
Who wins and Why?
#2
Saw Middlesboro on film, they have some very good player. I don't think the Jumpers will come out flat in this one. If Castle plays a lot at QB, Jumpers will roll.
#3
Jumpers roll. They are on a mission.
#4
After Castle's performance against LCA, if the coaches don't play him a lot, I'm getting them appointments to get their heads checked!

My favorite team vs. One of my best friend's favorite team

Wow, I skipped out on last weeks game because of being busy, but this one I will be at! Should be a close game.

I pick Middlesboro in a close one

This will be a tough road game for Somerset, but I'm still going with the Jumpers
#7
Briar Jumpers.

I like Somerset, 35-14. Don't think Middlesboro O can handle the Somerset D and the Somerset O is doing better from how it sounds. If the offense can hit it's stride in time for the postseason IMO this team could go to Bowling Green.

Somerset has played great Def. all year long, don;t see that changing in this game, Middlesboro will be hard pressed to Score on Somerset.
#10
Somerset will win this one by by 2-3 scores
#11
Somerset wins another tough district game
#12
Middlesboro surprised me with how well they played against Danville but Somerset is refusing to lose at this point in the year.
#13

Somerset's defense is the difference in this game. Somerset wins 35-7.
#19
Roark for Middlesboro was like a one man team last year. second best QB Somerset played against behind Holy Cross' IMO. Who does Middlesboro have this year?

Some of these post that I have read over the last three weeks are amusing. Either you are a fan or not. Putting players, and coaches down just does not get it done.
#21
All fans of any sport wants to win but Somerset Fans are the most critical of their own players and coaches
#22
I've have lived in three areas of Kentucky but Somerset by far has to be "on the fence" sorta speak fans. If you win the coaches and players rock but if you lose, have a bad game then they are on a downward spiral.
#23
I have played, and coached the game of football and I ask myself after I read some of these post how can this team win!
#24
A true fan told me to take a look at this site and to look at all the turmoil that must be within this team. Good luck to all players and coaches! I have been to three games this year in support of the Briar Jumpers and I was impressed with how they seem to hold it together even with all that has been wrote about them. The two men that was hurt in the crash best of wishes to you hope you a have a full recovery. I know that this site is mainly for parents and fans to vent, however you should never put down a player (especially to aid your own) I believe this site was suppose to uplift players not to bring they down.

Jumper fans have observed that if you start one quarterback our offense is struggling with our defense winning games for us, compared to if another one starts then our offense can be potent and much more unpredictable. If Hatcher started against LCA then IMO the game would haven't ever been in doubt. I'm not picking on a particular player, just stating what we see as a clear fact.

I believe that the Somerset record is 8 and 2 so why would anyone want to change any key players at this point in the season. Somerset is a team that I watched grow and mature for 6 years and this group and coaching staff knows how to get it done. Let's all sit back watch and enjoy. I want make it to next game will watch my other grand child but best of luck and come back with a win
#27
Maybe the reason is lca watched film on the starting offense experience is the key for any team one would have to agree
#28
I will back for the last home game of regular season against perry central need to have paybacks on this game for the lost there last year go briar jumpers
#29
Oh one more point did our defense score any of the points? I only watched three games I know for certain that they did not and I think I read in the paper about the other touch downs. There is no doubt that are defense is great but the record will stand for itself about the offense.

I don't think there is enough of a sample size to declare that the offense will be fixed by changing quarterbacks. I know that the backup provided a spark off of the bench Friday and looked pretty good in limited action in other games. However, I'd like to make a couple of points. Friday's game is really the only one in which he had to take any snaps with a lot of game pressure on him. Most of the other ones have come in mop up duty. Secondly, LCA most likely didn't have any game film of him going against other starting defenses and hadn't gameplanned for him. That will change as teams get to look at him and the Somerset offense with him at quarterback. They will be more prepared for the looks that he gives them.

I think he played great and deserves to get a lot of snaps, if not start, on Friday. However, he is still just a freshman and he might not respond the same way given a team that is prepared for him. I don't think it is fair to put the pressure of making him the savior of the offense on him given his age and inexperience. It is nice to know that he can get the job done and certainly isn't afraid, but let's not put this all on him or the offense's struggles all on the other quarterback.

I think this week will be another test for this team. Middlesboro is not an easy place to play and none of the current players have ever played there. That being said I just can't see the Jackets being able to produce enough points to challenge the Jumpers past halftime. I'll take Somerset on the road 28-0.
