Yea!! I just seen other thread. Boyle was 21. Probably just a typo.

Lexcath. They are who we thought they were. Not very good. I watched this game. Not impressed. Wouldn't be surprised if neither of these teams advanced to the semis this year.

From hearing that and seeing some other 4A teams this year, I said it pre-season that Russell County is the best 4A team outside of the NKY region, BUT lack of deep playoff success might hurt them.

I'd like to see Russell County or someone new advance past these two. Both teams played hard tonight. I just don't think the talent level is anywhere near what we're used to seeing at these two schools. I would have liked to have seen OT. Felt bad for the kicker, but they left him a terrible angle. Right foot kicker from right hash mark.

No mention of Kyle Bolin potentially tearing his ACL? That is huge news, hopefully it's nothing as bad as the reports say.

Once again boyle gives one away.

In the 2nd half Lexcath was without
Bolin at QB
MLB and leading tackler Mesmer
Long snapper (Mesmer)
Freshman phenom who changed the momentum with a circus catch to end half.
Then start the half with the backup sophomore throwing a pick-6 to go down 21-12 with 3 starters still in the locker room and none of them returning.
The turning point was when the the stripes made 2 criminally bad calls - a missed interception and then an outragious personal foul call. And yet the Knights keep Boyle out of the end zone.
This game will be remembered for a long time and it will provide lessons in a few weeks.
Lets hope the injuries are not severe. Letton had minor concussion, Mesmer strained abdomen. Hopefully Bolin is not as bad as speculated.

This would make a great question on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Who are two teams that can't beat Highlands?

Wow. That changes things a bit. Hope the young man is ok?

Very disappointed to say the least. But want to go on record as saying I've always like the Bolin kid (other than his choice of team) and I've always thought he was a very very talented qb. I sincerely hope that his knee injury is not as bad as I'm hearing. Boyle has to start playing smart football. Too many dropped passes, missed tackles and the like. The bye week comes at a great time as we have way too many injuries.

I disagree. Bolin out at the half. On his last drive, LC drove down the field in no time to score immediately after Boyle went up 7-0. No way of knowing for sure, but I think LC would have put Boyle out of their misery in the 2nd half with Bolin. He adds so much to the offense; the ability to pass deep, short, and run gives defenses fits. Boyle was gassed again and Bolin would've walked down the field in the 2nd half. LC's defense shut down Boyle several times with the run which is something Highlands couldn't do for the 1st half of their meeting. Plus, Highlands was down at half against Boyle and their defense allowed 24 in the 1st half alone. I think an LC/ Highlands matchup is much closer than you realize. LC's backs are fast. I think it's a toss up between CCH/LC. That would be a great game, IMO. With Bolin, the Birds would control the clock with the running agame and win. The only way to beat LC is by keeping Bolin off the field.
